Chapter 29: Hunter Blood

"Jungkook, why are you all so concerned about hunters? Aren't they weaker than you since they are half human?" Taehyung asks as he and Jungkook lie in the bed together beneath the moonlight.

"Being half human is actually what makes them stronger. Human souls have more energy than demon or angel souls which is why demons eat human souls instead of angel or demon souls. With the abilities of an angel parent and the human soul from the human parent, hunters are very powerful. Fighting just five of them on my own would be dangerous. Our souls are from where we get our energy. Humans having powerful souls means that the hunters have more energy and strength than demons or angels do. This means that they can wield their powers with a lot of strength." Jungkook explains as he gently runs his fingers up and down Taehyung's bare back.

"So they are dangerous." Taehyung whispers and wraps his arms around the demon who warms and lights his world.

"They are dangerous. That is why they guard Purgatory. Average angels and demons are no match for them. Since there are fifteen of them searching the human world right now, the angel they are hunting is very powerful. Lee Know is not very strong, so one hunter would be able to take him down. Three would suffice for Seojoon. One hunter is definitely for Jimin. This means that ten hunters were sent to take down the angel. The angel they are after is very powerful which means they are not after Hoseok since only two would be needed to take him down. They are likely after an archangel. However, none of the archangels in our group have ever escaped from Purgatory, so the hunters could be after an escaped archangel that is not part of our group." Jungkook mumbles as he tries to figure out who the angel is that the hunters are hunting.

"Does this mean that you are in danger again?" Taehyung nervously asks and rests his head on Jungkook's chest to listen to his heartbeat.

"Hmm, seeing as neither you nor I are the ones that the hunters are after, I am not in too much danger. However, seeing as our family members are their prey, then we are all in danger." Jungkook answers truthfully.

"Why do hunters obey Heaven and Hell?" Taehyung mutters as he thinks about the new danger they are facing.

"They are threatened at a young age to either work for Heaven and Hell or to die. Heaven and Hell cannot afford for these powerful beings to roam around without being in their control." Jungkook answers and kisses the top of Taehyung's head.

"So they use them instead. Heaven and Hell seem to be using a lot of people." Taehyung quietly mumbles and kisses his demon's chest.

"Mhm. I guess that is what happens when you have power. You are too afraid to lose it and greedy enough to use it however you want." Jungkook hums and wraps his arms around Taehyung then rolls over and curls up around his human.

"Everything will be okay. We will all survive." Taehyung whispers and lovingly kisses his demon.

"Yeah, everything will be okay." Jungkook hums into the kiss.

"I love you so much. I feel like I haven't told you this enough recently." Taehyung smiles and gently cups Jungkook's face in his hands.

"I can feel your love for me through our bond." Jungkook softly hums and places his hand on the butterfly on Taehyung's hip.

"Jungkook, something weird happened when I was in Michael's realm. It's been bothering me." Taehyung mumbles as he nervously bites his lip.

"Okay, what is it?" Jungkook softly asks and gently pulls Taehyung's lip to stop him from biting it.

"Uhm when I escaped, I ripped Michael's heart out and threw Joy through a wall." Taehyung answers as he nervously plays with Jungkook's hand. "And Gabriel said that I should only have the normal strength of a normal human, but when my mind was foggy with anger and fear, I almost killed two angels. I would have ended up killing Michael if I hadn't felt his life beating in my hands. I couldn't bring myself to kill someone. After what he did to you, I wish that I had killed him." Taehyung mutters and places his hand on the scar on Jungkook's body where the spear pierced the demon.
