MARCO'S POV
A huge grin plastered on my face as I saw text from mario. He said he will take care of Odette and I was more than happy to leave them both so they could bound and the text from him speaks volumes.
As soon as I saw Andre’s gaze on me with a smile on his wrinkled face, I couldn’t help but clench my jaw and smile back, he is father of our doll before our enemy.
I kept reminding myself as I walked further into the mansion.
“It’s so nice to meet you marco, it’s a surprise, Odette said you were leaving to honeymoon”, he said shaking his hand with mine.
“yes, actually, I am here to talk about Odette, I wish to keep this private”, I add glancing around though I don’t find maids at this hour but we can’t afford to let the information about our woman which might be God knows what slip in the ears of people waiting to spill it out for money.
“of course”, andre said and I could see a visible frown on his face as he walked us to his office.
Sitting on the couch he poured a glass of whiskey for me and himself, with a heavy sigh he sat back holding his back tiredly.
He is getting old soon.
“my body isn’t as it used to be before, sorry”, he said settling back leaning on the couch and I smile shaking my head at him.
“it’s fine, I can understand”, I tell assuring him and take a sip of my whiskey as I lick my lips at the taste he speaks.
“So, I hope Odette is being nice, I swear to God, I know she is brat but trust me give her some time, she always wanted a normal life and was mad because I wasn’t able to give it to her and with you she is continuously in spotlight for being the wife of the most successful man of Italy”, he tells and my chest swells with pride hearing him.
Of course I was counted in most successful man as well as my brother but hearing it from our enemy, of course our ex enemy is a sweet to eat.
“I am lucky enough to have a woman like Odette on my side”, I tell him truthfully as a wide smile spread on his face he leans back now calming himself as he asks.
“Then what is it about you wanted to talk at this hour marco?”, andre asks smiling in relief which soon faded as the question escaped from my lips.
“About Odette’s past”.
Andre's face turned pale as he gawked at me in shock as he frowned shaking his head.
“her past should be locked behind, it was never my favourite thing to talk about marco and I want to keep it that way”, andre said as he got on his feet turning his back on me and poured another glass of whiskey in his glass.
I leaned back on the couch and said, “no one likes the past, andre, specially those who was victim or a criminal, who were you among these two?”, I ask him clenching my jaw in anger.
He frowned looking bewildered and shook his head as he drowned another glass of whiskey.
“sometimes we don’t need to be victim and criminal of someone to have a dark past, marco, just as Odette, she was neither victim nor criminal, just a witness and I think she is lucky enough to not remember that and live her life in present and future, I would give my anything to have that blessing”, andre said walking back towards me now with a whiskey bottle in his hand.
I look at him frowning, this man doesn’t looks like he is lying and if he is saying it’s better fir Odette to nit remember anything then that must be something horrible she witnessed and sadly I couldn’t stop what is happening with her right now. One way am happy that she remembered us, having the most memorable best memory with us but that led her to the darkness which should have stayed in dark, not shadowing on her bright future.
