Steve's pov

"And then Bella smiled, and it wasn't like a fake smile it was a real, genuine smile." I say to Corey and Robin as we stock to the shelves in the Family Video store. "Of course she smiled Steve she still loves you." Corey says and I spin around to look at her. "She does?" I ask surprised. "Steve, she broke up with you because she needed time to heal from her brothers death." Robin says with a sigh.

"Here comes the but." Corey wispers to Robin. "But does she still love me? Would she really break up with me just to grieve? I could have been there for her, I was there for her." I ramble on. "Oh my god, Steve, how did you used to be 'king of Hawkins High' and get all the ladies when you're worrying so much over one?" Corey asks and I glare at her. "It's because I never really loved any of them." I say as I lean against a poster on the wall. "I'm hopeless. I'll never get her back." I say with a sigh.

"Steve, Bella is my best friend and I know that she still loves you even if she won't admit it, any time Robin or I bring you up in conversations she blushes and immediately drops everything she's doing just to listen." Corey says as she comes up beside me. "Really?" I ask shocked. "Yes." Robin and Corey say in unison and I smile.

"Oh, I think I found our morning movie." Robin says as she runs over to one of the shelves and grabs a movie. "Dr. Zhivago." Robin says and I sigh. "You know I don't do double VHS." I say with a shake of my head. "But it's about doomed love." She says and I roll my eyes. "Ah, well that's debatable." I mumble as I push the cart full of movies around the counter. "Percisley." Robin says and I sigh again. "Also, Julie Christie is bo-bo-bo-bonkers hot in this. Like seriously the most beautiful creature I have ever seen in my life." Robin says as I push the cart in the back room. "Is that so?" Corey asks offended. "I mean besides you, of course." Robin says as she turns on the TV.

I quietly laugh and walk back out and look up at the TV. My mouth pops open in shock as I hear that a body of a Hawkins High student was found at the trailer park Bella lives at. "Holy shit." I say as my heart drops at the thought of Bella possibly being dead. Corey puts a comforting hand on my shoulder and gives me a small smile.

Bella's pov

Max and I arrive at Dustin's house and quickly get off our bikes. We walk up to Dustin's front door and I ring the doorbell. Dustin opens the door and he shares a worried look with Max and I. He lets us in, and we go to his room. I explain to them what happened last night with Eddie and Chrissy, but I leave out the part with the lights.

"Chrissy Cunningham?" Dustin asks in shock. "You're sure it was Chrissy?" Max asks. "Yes, she was in her cheerleader outfit it was the same thing she was in when I saw her with Eddie." I explain to them. "Did you tell all this to the cops?" Dustin asks as he paces back and forth. "No, no, but I can't be the only one that saw them together. I mean, they stood out." I say as I stumble through my words.

"Eddie, the freak with Chrissy the cheerleader?" Max asks still in shock. "Exactly. Now his name's not in the news or anything, but I guarantee you Eddie is suspect number one right now." I say quickly. "That's crazy Eddie didn't do this, no way." Dustin defends. "I know he didn't, Dustin. I'm friends with Eddie too." I say defensively. "But we can't rule it out." Max says and Dustin and I send her a glare. "Yes, we can." Dustin says. "Dustin!" Max says annoyed. "You don't know him like we do, Max." Dustin says as he points at himself and me.

"When we got to high school, Lucas made all his sports friends Mike and me. I mean, no one was nice to us, no one except Eddie." Dustin explains and I give him a sympathetic look. "Okay, well, I mean, they said the same shit about Ted Bundy." Max says and Dustin and I share a confused look. "Yeah, he's like a super nice guy, but then he's murdering women on the weekend." Max says with a shrug. "So you're saying Eddie is like Ted Bundy?" Dustin asks. "No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying we can't presume anything okay, but it doesn't look good for Eddie." Max says as she stumbles over her words. Dustin raises his hands and walks away from her while I roll my eyes. Dustin sits down on his bed and I sigh.

"Why haven't you told the cops this?" Dustin asks in realization. "I-I don't know." I say as I cross my arms over my chest. "You don't know?" Max asks. I sigh and sit down on the bed beside Dustin. "After I saw Eddie and Chrissy go in the trailer, something else happened." I explain and Max and Dustin perk up. "I was watching TV, and it started to mess up. When I got up to go fix it, the lights started to flicker, and I heard Eddie scream and run out of his trailer and drive away. Nothing that weird, I mean Eddie always drives like a maniac, and the power goes off at Max and I's place all the time. It's a piece of shit." I explain and Max nods in agreement.

"But this morning I started to think back and, I don't know. The look on his face, he was scared guys, really scared. Maybe he was scared because he just killed someone or maybe, um, maybe because I don't know." I say not wanting to think about the creatures of the upside down coming back again. "Maybe something else killed her." Dustin finishes for me. I look over at him and nod. "But that's impossible, right?" Max asks. "I don't know. It should be." Dustin says. "There's only one person who knows what actually happened." I say quietly. "Eddie." We all say in unison.
