Chapter 32

Steve's pov

"We call him Vecna. He lives in another dimension, that's why you can't see him." I try to explain to Jason. "And Eddie Munson and-and his Hellfire acolytes what you all summon this Vecna?" Jason asks me. "No, no you're not listening, just listen. There's no cult, there never was. And I'm not even in Hellfire." I say getting more and more irritated. "And you expect me to believe that?" Jason asks. "It's the truth!" I yell at him. "Then why was Chrissy at Eddie's trailer?" Jason asks getting angrier. "She was buying drugs!" I yell at him. "LIAR!" He yells at me as his grip tightens on his pistol.

"Chrissy, she was seeing things, terrible things, things Vecna forced her to see. She was scared, she just needed help." I explain to him calmly. "See that's how I know you're lying. If Chrissy was scared, if-if Chrissy wanted help SHE WOULD HAVE COME TO ME! Not Eddie, not that freak, never!" Jason yells. "I thought Bella would have come to me if she needed help too but I was wrong. And you're wrong about Eddie." I say to him. "No, but I was wrong about you." Jason says and I tilt my head to the side in confusion. "I looked up to you Harrington. The king of Hawkins High, the captain of the basketball team, the guy everyone wanted to be. But damn was I wrong." Jason says and I bow my head. "Then I'm sorry for being such a damn bad role model." I say as I lower my hands.

"You have five seconds to wake her up." Jason says to me. "Four." He says after I don't move. "Three." He says and I charge at him. He fires at me but I dodge the bullet and slam him into a wooden beam. He misfires in the air and drops his gun. Jason punches me in the face several times and I stumble over the chest that has Bella's Walkman on it. My eyes widen as Jason steps on the Walkman and breaks it. I quickly get up and punch him several times. He pushes me back and throws me onto the ground. I groan in pain and quickly get back up as we continue to fight.

Bella's pov

Vecna walks towards me as I watch him. "You are brave Isabella. Much braver than your brother. But again you are weak and fragile just like him. Like all the rest of them and you will break." He says and I glare at him. He raises his clawed hand to my face and I gasp in pain.

Vecna releases his hold on me as he is pulled away by an unseen force. I fall to the ground and quickly look up to see Eleven holding Vecna in the air with her powers. "You." Vecna says menacingly as he glares at her. "Hi." El says as she throws him across the mall into one of the stores.

Steve's pov

I slam Jason into the wall and punch him several times. Jason pushes me away and then stumbles away himself. I quickly get up and go to grab Jason but before I can he turns around and breaks a vase over my head. I fall to the floor as Jason gets on top of me and starts punching me repeatedly in the face.

Bella's pov

I get up as El runs over to me. "Bella, are you okay?" El asks me as she puts her hands on my shoulders. "Huh?" I ask as I look at her in shock. "Are you okay?" She asks again. "Yeah." I say quietly as I try to figure out what's going on. "Are you-are you real?" I ask El as I touch her buzzed hair and her face. "Di-did I make you?" I ask in shock. "I'm real." El says as she grabs my hand. I wrap her into a tight hug, happy to see her again. "How?" I ask her still in shock. "I piggybacked from a pizza dough freezer." She says. "What?" I ask her confused.

El and I break apart as we hear a noise. We walk out of Scoops to see Vecna walk out of one of the shops in the mall. He glares at us and stalks towards us. "Stay back." El says to me as she walks towards Vecna. "If you touch her again I will kill you again." El says to Vecna. "Is that what you did? Did you kill me?" Vecan asks menacingly. "I am so glad you are here Eleven. This is going to be beautiful." Vecna says as he glares at El.

"So very beautiful, and it's all thanks to you." Vecna says as he rips up several sharp pieces of metal from several of the shops around us and throws them at El. El uses her powers and pushes the sharp metal away from her with ease. Vecna then pushes El back onto one of the tables on the food court. I gasp as Vecna uses his powers and throws El into another one of the tables. He then throws her into one of the shops.

I quickly run over to where El pushed away the metal from earlier. I pry one of the pieces out of the ground and look over at Vecna who is walking towards El. I charge at Vecna with one of the metal pieces in my hand but before I can stab him he throws me away with his powers. I gasp in pain as I am thrown into one of the shops. I look up at El and Vecna as Vecna lifts El into the air. I look at El one final time as she is thrown backwards into Vecna's mind layer before I black out.
