"Oh come on please? You would be amazing in the Dreamworld next spring, you have one of the best voices I've ever heard. Could you at least promise you'll think about it?" Clay asks.

Clay is my vocal teacher, well we are in the same class majoring for music performance but he's been giving me notes and writes most of my songs for class. But the Dreamworld is a competition where people from all around the east coast compete for a 10 thousand dollar prize if you win.

"Clay I will think about it but not in a million years could I ever win at Dreamworld." I say.

"Don't think like that and plus you get a ton of money, you'd totally win and when you sing they'll probably stop you and give you the prize immediately." Clay says.

"Alright well I said I'd think about it but can we just finish this, I really have to get home and finish packing for break and want to get a heads start." I say. Clay nods and we continue to go back and forth on notes.

I get to my dorm finally and Alex is laying on the couch in our common room. "We leave tomorrow and you haven't even packed? Don't be surprised when I leave you in the morning because you are still in bed." I say.

It's Thanksgiving break and Al didn't want to go home to see her family and was just planning on staying back at our dorm the entire week. Her and her parents don't exactly get along very well and had a fight a few weeks before break and hasn't talked to them since.

I couldn't imagine her sitting alone the whole week so I invited her to drive down to Georgia with me and stay with my family and I. It took some pulling because she felt like she was intruding but I got her to say yes.

"I promise I'm going to and I don't really need that much clothes. It's only for a few days and I wear the same sweatpants 5 days throughout the week. I don't need to pack that much!" Alex says.

"Al no, you aren't wearing sweatpants for Thanksgiving. Love you but put NICE clothes in your suitcase please!" I yell while I walk into my room.

Alex mumbles and turns off the tv. Finally she heads into her room to pack.

"Are you sure I'm not intruding though? Does your family even know I'm coming? They haven't met me and I feel like they will hate me. All parents hate me!" Alex yells from her room.

"Yes they do know and oh hush no one could ever hate you. It's just my dad, grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins, also my brother and his girlfriend. I talk about you over the phone all the time and they will love you I promise!" I yell back.

The next morning we are on the road by 6. "I love you Harp but that won't stop me from punching you because you made me get up this early. Why did we have to leave this early again?" Alex asks, she's not a morning person.

"It's a seven and a half our drive from Virginia to Atlanta plus we will have to stop for gas and knowing you and I.. probably snacks too. And every time I visit my family I bring my grandma flowers. I want to get there at around 1, 2 latest."

"Well I'm going back to sleep." Alex says.

"Hey!! I'm just as tired as you are and I need somebody to keep me awake so you are going to stay awake since I have to as well. It was your fault you packed late and went to bed late also." I say as I elbow her in the arm.

She mumbles and crosses her arms. She might be exhausted but she will thank me keeping me up when we don't get in a car crash. My eyes are heavy so before we get on the highway I stop by a Dunkin. It's connected to a gas station and it was good to fill up my tank before we left.
