TristanWe are about an hour away from Faber and only 30 minutes have gone by which has felt like years. Harper won't say a word to me and I'm really fucking regretting that I said yes to picking her up.
It's almost 1 in the afternoon and I didn't get anything to eat so to get Harper and I get out of this too tight car of mine, at least it feels like it and pull into a diner.
"Wait what are you doing?" Harper asks.
"I'm hungry and thought it would be good to eat something on the way. I haven't had anything at all and since I came to pick you up I should be able to make all the stops." I say sarcastically.
"Fine but I'm staying in the car." She sighs and crosses her arms.
I go around to her car door and I open it and I undo her seatbelt. "You must've left early in the morning so I'm guessing you haven't had anything to eat." I say.
"I had a nutri-grain bar so that counts. Just don't take long, I have to be at wor-"
"Work by 4 I know and that's plenty of time. Also a breakfast bar? Really? That's not food. Let's go we won't be long and I know you are starving. I'm also betting your bitchy mood will go away once you have something in your system." I interrupt her with a big smile.
The smallest grin is on her face and she's probably trying not to laugh. She's deciding if she should go in with me.
"Alright but I don't want to be here long. I would like to have some time to go home and get ready for work." She orders.
"Anything you want sweetheart, as long as this mood you have turns into something not dickish." I say.
Harper rolls her eyes and we head into the little diner.
We find a booth in the back of the restaurant and sit down and a waitress comes up to us.
"Hi! I'm Cecilia and what you like to start with handsome?" The waitress asks.
She's giving me flirty eyes and leaning over towards my side of the booth not even caring nor giving Harper the time of day.
"I'll just have your plain cheeseburger and fries, oh and a diet coke. Thanks." I say.
"Awe and is this your little sister? What can I get for you?" Cecilia asks.
I look over at Harper and she looks unfazed but I just know she's filled with hot rage.
"Well Cilia. I will have pancakes, syrup on the side in a little sample cup so I can dip my bite of pancakes in rather than it be soggy, bacon, EXTRA. crispy. Cheese and grits, toast, fried eggs and some cranberry juice, also put some whipped cream and a cherry on my pancakes please. Oh and he's paying so be sure to give him the check." Harper says with the most polite yet evil smile on her face.
Is she actually jealous? Was she really mad our waitress had been flirting with me?
"Sweetie it's 1:00 in the afternoon." Cecilia says.
"Sweetie does it look like I give a shit? This is a diner and I want breakfast so make me some god damn breakfast." Harper snaps yet still keeping the smile on her face. The waitress looks like if she weren't working here she'd slap her across the face.
It's honestly kind of hot seeing Harper's attitude roll into place like that. Her furrowed brow and her eyes giving that death glare she usually gives when somebody has crossed her. The one she's giving me right now.
It honestly kind of turns me on.
Shit. I need to stop that like seriously.
Our waitress scoffs and walks into the kitchen I'm guessing to give them our order.
