HarperIt's 7 in the morning now and I have to be at work by 4. I left my grandmas at 5am so I would have some time to head by my dorm, change and unpack. It's a pretty peaceful drive.
I talked to my Mom last night and I honestly think she's doing alright but it was just one phone call. I don't know if I'll be coming for Christmas but Landon and I always see each other for Christmas because he's birthday is the day before New Years so there's even more to celebrate. So I'll have to think about it.
~~
It's around 11 o'clock now and I've been driving for almost 6 hours. I'm pretty exhausted and not up for heading to work today but it was my fault I didn't request enough time off.
I'm on a clear road and I've passed a few houses but I'm honestly in the middle of no where. I have about an hour and a half left of driving and I see I'm already running low on gas.
All of a sudden I hear a loud sound and a my car almost swerved off the road. It's thudding and-
Fuck, fuck and fuck. My tire popped, you have gotta be absolutely. Fucking. Kidding.
I pull over to the side of the road I try to call Alex. No answer. Landon? No answer. So I go to my last few options and call Max and Audrey. Still. No. Answer.
I call Blake and finally someone picks up. Good to know if I'm murdered in the middle of no where someone will know.
"Hello?" It's a girls voice. I recognize it.
"Um hello? I'm calling for Blake?" I ask.
"Oh it's you... Sorry Blake was just upstairs but he's coming down now. Matt and I were just watching a movie and I heard Blake's phone ring." Sarah hissed through the phone. I can hear her sarcastic tone over the phone and I can't fucking deal with it. She's had it out for me since I met Matt and has talked nonstop shit the past 2 years about me and I can tell she's being snarky about the fact her and Matt are together now.
"Yeah if you could hang him the phone please that would be awesome." I say unfazed.
"One sec, I just have to climb over Matt and let Blake know." Sarah tells me.
"Hey Harp, what's up?" Blake asks finally picking up the phone.
"Hey Blake my tire popped on the road home and nobody was answering their phone. I have work tonight and need someone to come and get me. I'm only more than an hour away and I already sent you my current location. It's Great Lodge Road coming right before the bridge!" I holler over the phone.
"Well my car is in the shop so there's no point in having me pick you up, let me ask Tristan he's been in town all week for break so I'm sure he won't mind." He says.
Shit. I can't see Tristan, not after the other night.
"No no please don't have him pick me u-" I'm already being interrupted by Blake and it's too late.
"So it's settled! Tristan is coming to get you and he'll call you when he's close but I gotta go Harp, the movie just landed on a really good part. Bye!!" He is already hanging up the phone and I'm screaming 'TRAITOR' even though no one is on the other line
I can't deal with this, with Tristan. I'd rather walk home for christ's sake. But I guess it's the only option if I want to keep my job.
I had to catch up on some books I'm currently reading anyway so I pull my backpack out from the backseat and hopefully that will let the time pass by. Thank god I live up north because if this were Florida I would die from heat stroke.
