When the light diminished, Chat had the same white suit. However, his suit had a few changes. A bleeding Purple Heart lay over the middle of his chest, and purple tear streaks ran down his mask. His eyes were no longer the chilling blue color, but bright purple.
"Ch-chat Blanc?" I whispered, trying to figure what he had become.
"Chat Blanc et Violet," he answered. "But just call me Kitty." His confusion and hurt had turned into one big mess. That little piece of good inside of him had seemed to have faded. His grin on his face was no longer had a hint of sweetness, but now it was purely wicked.
"You've changed," I murmured, keeping my eyes glued to the floor, "again."
"Change isn't a bad thing, m'lady," he purred, tipping my chin up to look at him. A tear escaped out the corner of my eye, rolling down my face. The old Chat would have comforted me, but this wasn't him. He wiped the streak off of my face, and kissed my forehead.
He let go of me, and backed up. "Now that you know about this," he said, "There's no point in hiding everything." I looked up inquisitively, wondering what he meant. He snapped his fingers, and everything diminished, leaving the same world that was there before.
The world seemed to be falling apart even more, if that was actually possible. Cracks lined every wall, and every floor, held together by what little sanity Chat had left. It almost felt like wherever I walked, the place would collapse.
"It was all just a lie," I said to Chat Blanc et Violet, catching his attention. "A wonderful lie, but a lie nonetheless."
"I wouldn't say it was a lie," Chat reasoned, "but more of a glamor." He grinned, and motioned to the door. "I'll be around, so call if you need me."
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I have to check on something," he responded. "Why?" Chat smirked and started walking me backwards, making me fall on my back on the bed. "Do you not want to be alone? He leaned over, his face inches away from mine.
"I-I'm fine being alone," I said to him, trying to keep my voice calm. He chuckled and kissed my lips gently, something very unusual.
"I don't think you are," he spoke, "but if that's what you want..." he straightened up, and walked over to the door, "then let's make that happen for you." He shut the door, and I heard a click. I paused for a moment, and made my way over to the door, testing the knob. It was locked.
"Chat Blanc, or Violet, or whatever your name is today!" I shouted, "Let me out!" I heard a more sinister laugh than I had ever heard before.
"Call me Kitty," he drawled, "and maybe I'll let you out." I sighed, and muttered what he wanted me to say.
"Say it louder, and with a please at the end."
I growled, knowing he was just toying with me. "Kitty," I said, cringing, "let me out.....please." I heard more laughter, as Chat replied,
"That's better. But I think I'll keep you in there." I heard his footsteps as he walked away, and I pounded on the door. No matter what I did, however, he didn't listen or didn't care. I slumped to the ground, tears in my eyes. He had turned so heartless, and for what?
I picked myself up and walked over to the bed, still white and as pure as snow. I lay on top, and curled into a ball. My eyes slowly drooped, and I drifted off, dreaming of my old knight in dark leather.
----------------------------------------------
A few hours later, I awoke, the curtains drawn and the room pretty much dark. I let my eyes adjust as I scanned the room, looking for Him.
As I looked, I spotted purple eyes in the corner of the room, watching me. He got up, and walked over to the bed. I scooted back as far as I could so I wouldn't be near him. He put a knee on the bed, and moved so that he was right next to me.
"What do you want?" I muttered, keeping at the edge of the bed.
"You," he said, and I could almost imagine him licking his lips. I scoffed and looked away, though there was nothing else to look at, it being completely dark and all.
He grabbed my chin, and made me face him. He muttered cataclysm, and sent the purple orb up into the air, a faint light illuminating the room. He turned his attention back to me, his face darkened by shadows. The purple irises stared at me, and kept me in a trance. It felt like time slowed down, as he kissed me. I closed my eyes, and let it happen as he poked his tongue at my bottom lip. I obliged, but only for a moment. Snapping out of it, I pushed back, almost falling off the bed.
Chat Blanc et Violet grabbed me so I wouldn't fall, our faces again inches apart.
"Please," I whispered.
"Please, what?" He murmured.
"No more." Surprisingly, he drew his face away, but pulled me to his chest. We lay down, his hand on my lower back, rubbing up and down in a comforting matter. I gripped onto his suit, partially from not trying to push him away and partly because it felt weird to do this. I lay my head on the center of his chest, giving up fighting, and listened to his heartbeat. It almost felt like the Purple Heart was beating too.
"Chat?" I asked quietly.
"Mhm?" He answered.
"Do....do you hate me?" I said. I could tell Chat was frowning, as he spoke,
"Why would you think that, Princess?"
"The cruelty lately has been a little much," I admitted. "If it's gonna be like this forever, I don't want to be treated like a prisoner." I looked into his eyes, and saw pure pain, like he wasn't in control of what he was doing.
"I'm sorry."
"I know you are, Chat."
I lay back down on his chest, trying to process. He almost seemed like two people, conflicted with himself. As I lay there, I vowed to myself that I would help Chat...Adrien, resurface and make it all right.
I'll make it better, my poor kitty, I thought, my eyes closing.
And for the second time that day, I drifted off in Chat's arms, somewhat at peace.
