Dagger Hand

"So. The pistol wasn't the only thing we found in your car, along with the dead body we found a dagger in the glovebox. This dagger." Said DS Lance, taking a dagger out of his pocket.

"Officer Lance is it? I suggest you put that away, let me leave or else this won't end well for you" advised Kathryn.

"So Theo, what happened?" Asked DI Neelam.

Theo remained silent.

"Alright as you know you do have the right to remain silent as I've already said. You have the right to an attorney, if you do wish for one please say so now." DI Neelam said.

Theo didn't say anything, meanwhile in the corridors Harvey the forensic examiner dragged the body of Kathryn's butler from outside on a stretcher into the station, he looked inside of the interrogation room and saw Theo, who he had spoken to before.

He wheeled the butler's body into the morgue and then returned into the corridor, bursting into the interrogation room unexpectedly.

"HARVEY? Why are you here?!" Asked DI Neelam angrily.

"I want to talk to Mr Theo. I mean Theo." Said Harvey.

"You know him?" Asked DI Neelam.

"Yes, we met before when I saw the remains of my dead friend, hello Harvey" said Theo.

Harvey smiled and waved.

"Listen Harvey, you know it's inappropriate to be in here. Leave and let me continue." Ordered DI Neelam.

"Okay." Said Harvey sadly, leaving the room.

Over in Kathryn's interrogation room DS Lance grew more disgruntled.

"Did you just threaten me?" He asked.

"No, I was merely making a factual statement. You will be sorry if you do not release me, Mr Lance. So now is your one and only chance" said Kathryn.

"How about this. You have one chance to tell me what happened in that crash and why you had not one but two illegal weapons. WHAT FOR?!" Asked DS Lance angrily, slamming his fist down on the table.

Kathryn yawned fakely, "I really wouldn't recommend getting that close to me again."

DS Lance continued to grow more angry, "are you kidding me? A MAN YOU KNEW IS DEAD AND YOU WON'T TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED. You had two illegal weapons in your car, that doesn't look too good."

"Okay. We were driving on the road, the car in front of us-, oh wait I seem to have forgotten." Lied Kathryn.

"You're joking about a person's DEATH! I don't think you have any remorse at all Kathryn. You are on thin ice." Threatened DS Lance.

"I do not know what happened Mr Lance, my apologies if I can't be of any further assistance" said Kathryn, failing to hide a smile.

"You're a LIAR!" Shouted DS Lance, he was still holding the dagger in his hand and he shoved it into Kathryn's hand which she had laid on the table.

She screamed in terror and pain, DS Lance in absolute shock, walked back and leaned against the wall.

For years and years, criminals had angered him, but he had never taken action. Kathryn had pushed him over the edge.

He walked out of the room and to the bathroom, splashing cold water into his face.

He looked into the mirror, he was no better than a criminal for what he did to Kathryn but she kept pushing and pushing, she deserved it.

When he walked back to the interrogation room, the door was wide open and Kathryn was gone.

He shouted in anger, running out through the door to see if he could see Kathryn, but there was no sign of her.
