No Man's Land

The Circus

The team walked over to a gate in the field, climbing up it and jumping over, entering the circus area.

They all turned their belts around, so their ray guns wouldn't be around the front, and therefore less people would spot them.

Diane quickly approached a random woman, "hello."

"Hello, do I know you?" Asked the woman.

"No, but I just need you to tell me. What year is it, and where are we?" Asked Diane.

"What kind of stupid question is that?" Asked the woman.

111"Would you just tell us!" Ordered Liam.

"Okay, okay. It's Connecticut 1944" said the woman, shaking her head as she walked away, believing the team were a group of lunatics.

"For god sake. 1944. Brilliant" smiled Diane sarcastically.

"Listen, I doubt there's anything around here, so we'll have to leave the place, and that can wait for a while. We may as well just go to the tent" said Alfie.

"Are you kidding? We're stuck seventy eight years in the past and you want to have fun at the circus? If you want to see a clown, look in the mirror" said Liam, shaking his head.

"Alright, it was just a suggestion" replied Alfie.

"No, it's actually a good idea. Let's go to the tent" chimed in Kurt.

"So we're stuck in time, WAY back in the past and instead of searching for escape methods, you would rather see an elephant doing tricks?" Asked Liam.

"Oh come on, we may as well!" Said Diane, coming round to the idea and tugging at Liam's arm.

"Yeah, just come with us," said Romeo.

"FINE. Let's go" sighed Liam.

The team walked to the middle of the circus, which had the biggest tent in the entire circus.

The five of them walked inside of the tent, strolling up some steps into a row of seats and sitting down.

"This better be the best circus of all time" groaned Liam.

A man started to talk over the speakers, "ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus!" He said enthusiastically.

"Please welcome the lion master!" He shouted, a man suddenly walked inside of the circus and approached an object that was covered by a big black sheet, he ripped it off and revealed a lion in a cage.

He reached inside of his pockets and grabbed a key, taking it out and opening the cage, the lion waiting on instructions to leave, as it was highly trained.

"Leave" the man said, walking to the side as the lion left the cage.

During all of this, the man's assistant had brought out a hoop, igniting it.

She held it out as the man shouted at the lion, "GO!"

The lion charged at the hoop, jumping through it and continuing on before doing a 180 turn, the assistant walking back and moving the hoop.

"GO!" Shouted the man, as the lion rushed at the hoop, however as the lion was about to begin jumping through it, the man shouted another instruction, "UP!"

The lion jumped up while going through the hoop, catching fire, as he landed on the ground he ran around the circus, not letting anyone catch him, and as the fire began to spread all over his body, no one dared move from the stands in case they got ran down by the lion while he ran around.
