billie "thank you for letting me take you out" I thank summer as I finish paying for lunch.
"yeah well, you used adalyn against me" she says with a pointed look, "and you" she turns her attention to ada, "you're already turning against mommy" she says tickling her.
"mommy stop" she giggles squirming making me smile, "you're turning against me" summer says with a evil laugh.
"no, I love mommy" she squeals, summer kisses her face letting her calm down, "I love you too baby" she says rubbing her back, I feel my heart flutter watching her being so gentle with our daughter.
"all done" she cheers finishing her fries, "let me clean you up" I say taking a wipe to clean her hands.
"thank you mama" she kisses my cheek making me smile, I wrap my arm around her as she sits besides me.
"you guys are ready to go?" summer nods standing up and I put my hand out for ada and walk out with them, she bounces up and down on the way out.
"do you remember when we said we'll be best friends if shit don't work out?" I ask summer after putting adalyn in her car seat.
"yeah"
"can we?" I ask her giving her a nervous smile, "I know I've lost the privileges of anything with you but I want to be close with you like that" I lean against my head rest looking at her.
"yeah but part of that deal was we stay best friends until we figure it out and get back together" she points out.
"I know" I nod running my tongue over my teeth, "and.. I do want to eventually get back with you, I really do" i tell her and she instantly looked away.
she doesn't dare say another word making me want to throw up because of nerves, "I don't know billie" she says shaking her head, "I mean I want to punch you even looking at you right now" she chuckles.
I hand adalyn her iPad and put on her headphones to keep her occupied as I talk to summer, "then do it, do whatever you need to do to forgive me or hurt me please"
"I'm not going to hit you billie.. or hurt you, you know I can't do that" she shakes her head.
"then I don't know what else summer, I want to make shit work with you. I want another child, I want to treat you right and spoil you.. please" I beg her.
"hanging out with you really made me so happy and I don't want to be just another parent to adalyn, I want to be with you" I say desperately but she stares at me with a distant look.
she obviously doesn't believe shit I say.
"we can't make anything work if I don't trust you" she says with a shrug, "I'm a mother now. I need to make sure my daughter is okay and I need to be okay with her, I can't" she shakes her head.
my shoulders slump as I let out a sigh, "okay" I mutter starting the car, "but just know that I'm not going to stop trying" I shrug pulling out of the parking lot.
