THE STALKER

had been happening for weeks, maybe months. The scary thing about stalkers though, is you never know how long they have been stalking you.
I first noticed her when I went to get some food from taco bell. I live in a very small town so seeing people multiple times a week wasn't weird. But I had never seen her before. She looked to be thirty, with long brunette hair. Her eyes had huge bags and she stared at me the whole time.
I didn't think too much into it until I started to go to my car. She followed me. She didn't have any food or drinks but she had been sitting in the taco bell for at least an hour. I picked up my speed, got in my car, and took off.
About two weeks later, My mom wanted me to go grocery shopping. She gave me a list that was at least fifty items long. I didn't want to go alone so I asked a friend to go with me. We got there and instantly I noticed the woman. She was standing near the back of the first aisle. Grabbing my friend's hand I pulled her towards the very back of the store.
She asked why I was acting weird and told her about that woman. Her eyes widened. I asked her what's wrong and she gave me the most gut-wrenching question. " That's not your aunt?" I freaked out asking her what she meant. She told me that the woman had asked her about me saying she was my aunt. My friend had told her my favorite place to get food and where I liked to hang out by myself.
My friend had figured she was trying to surprise me. I asked her how long ago she had told her this. She said it was eight weeks ago. Over two months. I started to panic and my friend started to call her mom to come to get us. As we waited I tried to get at least some of the stuff on my grocery list. Every now and then I'd catch her peeking around the aisle at me.
My friends' mom got here and we checked out. We didn't tell her figuring that the woman would drop it after a few more days. When they dropped me off I ran into the house with the few groceries I had got and locked all the doors.
I hadn't noticed anything else for a long time. I started to get very paranoid. Everywhere I went I was looking over my shoulder or jumping at the slightest movement. My friends suggested I get a go-pro and wear it at all times hoping to get me some peace of mind. I immediately went and got one.
I wore it for a few weeks and it did help me to be calmer. That was until I checked the footage. Every single day, at some point, the woman showed up. Behind trees, in stores, by my car. I physically screamed. I instantly called the police and told them everything. They set up a lookout on my street that night. Laying in my room I started to hear a soft tapping on my window. I froze. Slightly moving my head to see who it was. I almost threw up. It was the woman. Her eyes were crazy and she had a sickeningly wide smile. I screamed for my mom and in an instant, the police light was on and the woman was running.
They caught her and she was put in jail. It turns out the woman was a kidnapper and was trying to get me as her next victim. If I had never worn that go pro or recognize her at the store, what would have happened?
