THE ABANDONED HOSPITAL

It was a normal day. Sun shining, birds chirping, and school was boring. I was sitting in my English class when I got a text from a group chat. " We are sneaking off campus to go explore Creedmoor Psychiatric center. We leave in 5 minutes." I didn't want to get in trouble but the day was just so unbelievably bland. " Where are we meeting?" I texted back. We are doing this.
I got out of class and made it to where we were meeting. It was myself, Jasmin, Jake, and Derik. " Are you ready for this? I heard the place is haunted." Derik wiggled his figure trying to scare us. Jasmin flicked his nose, " Haha so scary." we all laughed and left in Jake's car.  
The ride was about 30 minutes. We jammed out to music until Jasmin decided to tell us about the hospital. " Apparently it was opened in 1912 and shut down in some time in the '70s." I was starting to get this weird feeling with all of this. " wow it says this hospital had a number of assaults, rape, fires, suicides, riot, and even a shooting. This is seriously messed up guys." We all glanced around. "So it could be haunted?" Derik smirked as I reached forward to flick him.  
We pulled up to the classic chain link fence. " So how far do we walk?" I asked out of pure terror of walking over 4 miles. Jasmin pulled out google maps showing me, " About 2 miles to the first building. Then depending on where we go is how much more we walk." Jake and Derik filled two back packs with flash lights, rope, water, and flairs. They noticed us looking at them confused. " a flair?" I asked. " Just in case."We jumped the fence and started the track towards the building. We raced a little, joking the whole way. However, I couldn't shake the feeling from before. Something was off but I didn't know what. I told the group but they laughed it off as me just being nervous. 
We made it to the first building. It was huge and there was a rotting smell to the whole place. It was dirty and dingy like an abandoned place would be. We crawled through a broken window, the girls first cause it was pretty high. Once we were in it was shocking. We all gasped at the sight of over thrown chairs, broken tables, graffiti on everything. The weirdest thing was the clothing. All over every thing was nuses clothes and shoes. 
We walked around the first floor then tried to get up a sketchy flight of stairs. Once to the second floor we noticed the sun was setting. We decided to watch it set all the way from the roof. There was only three stories so it wasn't hard to get to. We made it to the top and watched the sun. Once it was over we decided to search around more.
After about an hour we made it to one room. There was couches with ripped sleeping bags on it. There was fresh food and water bottles that only dated back a year. " Guys i think we should leave." Jasmin said her voice shaking. " What why?" asked Jake. Derik grabbed his arm putting his finger to his lips. I looked to Jasmin confused but she was almost out of the doors. I ran after her. I pulled her shirt, " hey what the heck?" She pointed back to that room. I watched the boys run out and in the darkness I saw something stand. I felt the blood drain from my face.
The boys grabbed Jasmin and I. We all ran out but the shadow kept following. 
Every turn we took it followed. We made it into what seemed to be the main office. I ducked behind a desk and lost sight of the others. I heard something hit the door followed with heavy breathing. My eyes darted back and forth looking for a way out. I didn't have any supplies with me besides my phone. There was foot steps with the stop crunch of concrete. I noticed my breath was very loud and my hands slammed over my mouth.
I saw something waving at me from the right side. It was Jasmin and Derik. They pointed to something that was behind me. I leaned my head up to see a set of hands grabbing the edge of the desk. I screamed as the head belonging to the hands peeked over at me. It looked to be a woman. Her long mangled hair swung so close it almost hit my face, her deep sunken yet wide eyes staring into mine.
I leaped forward running towards the door. The woman shreaked. I looked towards Jasmin and Derik they were running towards me. We saw the woman jump from the desk. As she ran towards me Jake opened a flair and threw it at the woman. She fell back, her scream echoing through the hospital walls. 
We made it to the window where we came in. I jumped throw but I didn't quite stick the landing. I fell to the ground watching the window. Derik came after me landing a lot more graceful then me. He picked me up and started running. We made it about half way through the field when he sat me down. We stayed low and waited. After a few minute there were footstepsIt was jasmin and Jake. We let them catch their breath. Then we took off again.
Once we made it to the fence the boys jumped it. Jasmin was half way up when the bushes started rustling. The woman had followed us. I pushed Jasmin up and then threw myself over the fence. We got in the car and without even turning on the headlights took off.
Once we were a few miles away from the hopitel we parked. We looked over each other making sure none of us where hurt. The worse was my sprained ankle and a few cuts. After that night none of us went exploring again. I don't know what happened to that woman or what would've happened if we had gotten caught by her. I don't want to ever know.
