Icy blue eyes reflect back from a mirror as a pair of hands begin to braid a piece of hair down one side. The braid is small, white and brown hair mixed together within it. Taking a deep breath, the woman studies herself in the mirror before exiting the bathroom.

She heads down the stairs and into the kitchen, seeing several people either standing around or sitting at the table.

"Good morning Sakari," Ellis greets and the woman smiles faintly.

"Good morning," she responds.

Delilah studies the woman for a moment before smiling slightly. "Sakari, I want to ask you something, but I don't want it to come across as rude or...as though I'm prying. Your mother was an Elemental and your father was human...and you were raised..."

"In Alaska, by my father's people. It's okay. You can ask me," she assures the other woman, "I won't get offended, I promise. I enjoy talking about my culture," she murmurs as she pours herself some tea, "this smells lovely. Better than any tea I've ever had."

"It's grown by Shaye," Cassidy tells the other Ice Elemental, "she's wonderful at it."

"Thank you Cassidy," Shaye says as she smiles at Sakari, "I think your mother was so brave. You said she left before the war, right?"

"Yes. Many, many years before. But from what she told me, it was still a difficult time. Her parents wanted her to marry someone...not sure who but, either way she ended up leaving. Went all the way to Alaska and met my father," Sakari murmurs before smiling fondly, "my father loved her with everything he had, which wasn't much. But he had a good heart."

Cassidy smiles as she looks at her husband. "That's what matters," she murmurs and he smiles at her before pressing his lips to her cheek.

"I agree," he says.

"Sakari, if you wouldn't mind, could we talk later?" Delilah asks and the Ice Elemental nods.

"Sure," she says as she holds onto her cup of tea, ice forming on the cup around her fingers, making the tea cooler, "perfect temperature."

Everyone laughs, then continues on with their conversations, making Sakari smile. She carefully sips the tea in her hands as she observes the people before her. Most wore smiles on their faces, some laughed while they spoke amongst one another.

Sakari smiles softly as she tucks some hair behind her ear. "I'll be in the den," Sakari tells Delilah who simply nods. The woman heads to the other room in order to sit and enjoy her drink.

She watches birds fly through the window, smiling as some land on a nearby bush. "Sakari."

The woman looks towards the archway before smiling. "Hello Delilah."

"I...I wanted to ask you about your life. Being half human..."

"It gave me more freedom," Sakari admits before smiling softly, "my mother told me my human side protected me from other Elementals, like yourself."

"From the Council," Delilah murmurs before sitting across from the woman, "they don't understand or...they won't accept differences. And for a long time I wouldn't either. But now...I realize that change is inevitable, so I must accept it."

"As one of the Elders would say, that's a wise choice," Sakari says as she offers Delilah a slight smile, "my mother left long before the civil war. She wanted to be free from the Council and their laws. So that's what she did. She traveled through Russia before finally reaching Alaska."
