Warm summer air gently blows in through an open window, the sheets on the bed moving along with the breeze. Emerald green eyes stare at the open window, watching the sun rise steadily in the early morning.
Shaye inhales deeply as she blinks once, twice, resting her head on her hand as she lies in bed. She closes her eyes for a moment as the vine around her arm begins to pulsate, beating in time with her heart. She sighs softly as she listens to a car pull into the driveway, a door being opened, then promptly slammed shut.
She pulls herself out of bed and pushes her long brown hair from her face as she walks to her door. Her hand turns the knob and she exits her room cautiously, then moves to the stairs as the front door opens.
"Welcome back. You made it here safe," Delilah says as she looks at everyone, "Fleur...how was Bordeaux?"
Fleur smiles at her mother. "It was beautiful. Have you ever been?"
"A few times," Delilah says, "oh, good morning Shaye."
"Morning," the teen mutters as she walks past the group as if they weren't there.
Lyria watches the Earth Elemental walk past them before looking at Dartanian. "Give me a minute," she murmurs and he nods before smiling at her.
"We'll fill Delilah in," he assures her and she smiles before trailing after the taller girl.
She follows the girl into the kitchen, seeing she's brewing some tea for herself. "Hey," Lyria murmurs, offering the girl a smile, "how's it going?"
Shaye sighs before shrugging. "Fine, I guess. How about you?"
Lyria smiles slightly before rolling her shoulders. "I got Earth," she tells the girl who looks at her, wide-eyed.
"You did?"
Lyria nods before rolling her sleeve up the entirety of her arm in order to show off the new marking. "Few days ago. At Amara's funeral, no less."
"How did you...handle it?"
"The feeling passed through me. I'm getting used to each marking as I get them," she admits, "it's a weird feeling...being used to them."
Shaye nods once before sighing softly. "It's weird here, too. I'm going to be the Maid of Honor for their wedding," she murmurs, "they had no one else to ask..."
Lyria sighs softly. "I know. Dartanian is going to be Best Man. How are you doing?"
"I'm good, actually. Starting to get through it," she says, offering the girl a smile, "Ezra and Gwen have been filling up my time with questions about Earth and Lightning Elementals. It's nice to have some form of normalcy."
Lyria smiles before biting her lip. "When you're done with your tea, we'll tell you what we found," she informs the Earth Elemental who nods in understanding, "my father is filling Delilah in right now."
"What exactly did you find?" Shaye asks.
"More clues," Lyria murmurs, "but we're getting closer to finding out what I am."
"Must be important if it's depicted in an Egyptian drawing," Shaye insists and Lyria smiles at her.
"Yeah, must be. I'm going to gather everyone down here. Well, mostly everyone."
Shaye smiles as her friend leaves, exhaling softly as she closes her eyes, then her emerald gaze focuses on the plants before her. She reaches out and smiles as the plant comes back to life from the softest touch, the purple flowers blooming once more.
