Bristol, NH

"I know I landed yesterday but I was exhausted after we arrived. That's why I didn't call immediately," Adrian says into his phone.

"I'm glad you made it there safely. How is Logan?"

Adrian sighs softly before shaking his head. "He's not okay, but he won't admit it. He's a lot more stubborn than he thinks he is," the Lightning Elemental says with a smile, "how are you?"

"I'm alright, a bit tired. I went to check on your family and gave them some flowers. Mikayla is still in a coma..."

"Yeah, I know..." he murmurs before inhaling deeply, "take care of yourself, Daniel. Don't walk home alone, please."

"I won't be, I promise. How are you doing?"

"I'm okay. Being here is strange...strange because of why we're here. Not so much the setting itself...just our purpose here," he murmurs, "although, I will say I'm nervous. Trying to find someone potentially dangerous is...well, it's not the smartest thing."

Daniel laughs softly and Adrian smiles. "When is it? But, I understand Lyria's reasoning. There's a cure, you said. Right?"

"Yes. She thinks we might be able to cure her mother, maybe cure the others too," he murmurs as the latter yawns, "I should let you go so you can rest."

"No, it's fine. I wanted to make sure you were alright. And Adrian...when you get back, could we talk?"

"Yes, I'd like that. Now, you get some rest tonight, understand? Don't stay up all night again," he scolds the other male who simply chuckles.

"I'll try not to. Have a good day Adrian."

"You as well, and a good night," he says before hanging up the phone. He smiles softly before shaking his head, then looks at his hands as someone enters the kitchen.

"Good morning," Lance says, watching the younger teen for a moment, "your conversation went well?"

"How did you know-"

"I have great hearing. Promise I didn't listen the entire time," Lance says before smiling wide, "you've got someone, that's good."

Adrian shrugs before sighing softly. "I'd have to leave our world to be with him...which wouldn't be fair to anyone else I care about but..."

Lance shrugs before shaking his head. "Since when do you care what others think? Especially the Council? They're a bunch of stuck up snobs who can't be bothered to check the date. They're still living the Renaissance over there. They have no sense of time and they refuse to change laws which were made thousands of years ago," he murmurs, "humans will find out about us eventually. Maybe not in our lifetime but-"

"It seems some already have," Adrian murmurs, "I've met someone who was half human."

"Like Sakari?" Lance asks and the Lightning Elemental nods.

"She doesn't want to be found out, so she swore me to secrecy," he admits.

Lance chuckles before shaking his head. "I don't blame her. I'd be afraid too. Of the Council at least," he admits before sighing softly, "who knows? Maybe we can help them."

Adrian hums before nodding once. "Maybe. It'd be nice if the Council could get ahead of the times," he says and Lance chuckles.

"That will never happen."

"It might," a soft voice says, "we just need the right person to change things."

Lance smirks as he watches his brother and his girlfriend enter the kitchen. "Like you?" He asks and she smiles slightly.
