"You look amazing!" I complimented the female smiling at me on the mirror. Damn I looked good!
I took a sharp inhale to appease my insides. My very first date with a human. Of course I couldn't keep calm, it was a huge deal. The Queen(also my mother) would pluck me away from the humans with immediate effect if she found out of this atrocity. But, she wasn't going to find out, I had compelled my guardians to do my biddings. Ha!
Suck on that Syra!
Nobody back home knew I had learnt the art of compulsion. It had been too easy, just like how I had learned all of high school in a week for me to apply for a university in the human realm.
And now I was one of the best brains in the University of Victoria.
Living amongst the humans was turning out to be just fine, totally opposite from all the stories we had learnt back in Syra. They called us witches, and apparently were the reason we lived in a different part of the world. Yes, we all walked and breathed the same air as the humans, but the realm was divided ages ago by our ancestors. I had had the time to study the world, and it seemed as if humans had no idea what lay beyond the Bermuda triangle as they called it. It is Syra, my home. Cities lay beyond that invisible border. And the maps only indicate the oceans.
