"Hello." He grinned as Luke strapped me down to another chair. I couldn't speak. What do I say? I'm too shocked, a million thoughts going through my mind.
I finally managed to throw out a few words. "When...Why...Why are you doing this?" I gulped.
"When I told you I'd find you, I meant it. When I said I'd destroy you, I meant it." He said, his eyes twinkling. I gulped, not knowing what to do.
"Why am I here?" I asked, not even bothering to bicker with him. There's no point now. We're back to where we used to be. He has the upper hand.
"I'm making you an offer. A deal, if you will." When I said nothing, he sat down at his white desk in front of me and continued. "If you do what I ask, I'll let your silly friends go."
"I'll do anything to let them be free, you know that." I whimpered, tears brimming my eyes. "Just say it."
"Work for me, and be with me." He licked his lips. What? Become one of these brainwashed zombies?
"What?" I was so shocked. What do I even answer? I can't stay here with him, but I can't let them do this to my friends.
"Oh, c'mon baby. Don't be so shy. It's not as bad as you think. Everyone here loves it." I finally took a look around the room. Luke, Ashton and Calum leaned against the back wall, each holding guns in their pants. Luke stared at his crossed feet, Ashton maliciously smirked and Calum stared strait ahead. I just realized there was a girl standing next to Charlie. I immediately recognized her. Long black hair, brown eyes, a slight pig nose, petite body. She was our weird waitress from the other day. She had also bought something from Jack, and randomly knew his name. Oh god, another fucking spy. "Madison sure likes it." Charlie said as Madison smirked at us. I rolled my eyes, her presence immediately annoying me.
"It's the least you can do for us." Her high-pitched voice echoed through the practically empty room.
"Yeah, she fucking killed Mikey." Ashton's louder voice boomed.
"I didn't fucking kill him!" I yelled, trying to move my arms, causing my chair to slightly bounce.
"She's right. Her fucking boyfriend did." Said Charlie. "I never liked Jack."
"You just hate him because he has what you can't have." I challenged, a boost of energy surging through me.
"Shut up, you don't have a say in what I can or can't have." He grumbled. "Now, stop with this non-sense. Do you want the job or not?"
I swallowed, not sure what to answer. I bit my lip, trying to stall time. I watched Charlie as he rolled his eyes.
"Maybe this will help you change your mind. Bring him in, boys." What? Bring who in? Nate? Jack? I watched as Luke and Calum walked into some sort of back room and came right in with a body. He had a bag over his head, but I could tell who it was just by his walk. He was struggling form their grip, but Nate was clearly hurt and having a rough time. They strapped him down in a chair facing me. They ripped the bag off his head, and I took in all his features. I could tell why he was screaming since we got here. I studied his brown eyes, surrounded by black bruises, his crooked nose, his split lip and other bruises and scratches along his body.
"Nate!" I screamed, all air escaping my lungs due to shock.
"Erica." He sighed, every word looking like it hurt him.
"Is he aware of my preposition?" Asked Charlie.
"Yeah, we told him when we came in." Answered Calum.
"Erica, don''t take the job. We can survive, it's fine." Nate tried to reassure me, I could barely understand him, he was so beat up. Seeing him like this, physically hurt me.
