The way I did Mettaton is very different from the way I usually draw him. Since it's a different race/species, I wanted it to look more like the robots we normally see. I also feel like Alphys might have more to work with because she often finds scraps of old or damaged badniks, EggPawns, or E-series robots. Despite the changes, I still kept some iconic parts of his design so he'd be recognizable.
Yes, he gets tube arms without segments here. As far as I know, none of Eggman's robots have segments except for the Death Egg Robot from the end of Sonic Forces.
I tried to keep Uni's OG design while making an easier switch to a Mobian. I say easier because humanoid robots built from toasters are different from robotic hedgehogs and metal eggs with twig limbs. I also knew I wanted to mess around and try a different clothing style instead of going with electro goth punk. So, I gave her a corset dress again and put her hair up then used pastel colors except for her ribbon.
