oriental-beast, she's complete! She has fought her whole life to protect her people and family. But she often struggles to save herself from corruption.
I decided to make her look like a villain again. In my opinion, having a princess appear dark and menacing when she's suffered so much and lived in constant fear makes you think she might be the villain and add some interesting plot twists. It kinda emphasizes why she always has to appear intimidating just to reach the top and keep the crown and power in her family.
The villain-like appearance strikes fear into her foes and suitors. When they first hear about her, they will think she'll be easy to snatch up until they actually meet her.
As soon as they realize she hangs out with Mettaton, they automatically assume she gave up on being a guard and protecting her kingdom because "any wise princess will become queen and let men handle guard duties." They think she was "saved" by a buff dude. She isn't the stereotypical princess or damsel in distress and we all know Mettaton isn't the stereotypical straight guy.
So, her story is very different from the typical Disney princess stories. Yet, she could still fit right in.

Hhhhhhhhhh... I really hate drawing wings and hands. At least I can draw large feathered limbs better than small fleshy appendages-
Also, I wanted her torso to be more square or rectangular because she does have muscle that can easily look like flabs of fat-
Her dress is made up of different pieces or modules. I may have already talked about this when I posted the sketch but, the skirt comes apart. The top layer of it also has the cape and they have that bow in the back that holds them in place. Untying the bow allows that layer to be removed and the next two layers- the blue and dark purple parts of the skirt- have clasp buttons. The final layer is the rest of the dress. There is a zipper in the back so it's easy to remove if she has to switch to her armor. All of it is easy to remove except for that black suit. That is part of her armor and this outfit.
Her soul is fragmented due to everything she has gone through and it has also lost much of its light. That's why there are so many cracks and why it has this dull color. The pieces that have already split apart are being held together somehow by magic(?) or some other force. Determination maybe? She is constantly on the verge of corruption which is why her magic is is oddly colored.
