Mari recognizes the voice, as does Renard. They both stand down.
Sinister: What a day this must be.
Sinister is completely dressed in his hunt suit. His terror inspiring mask in display
Mari: Captain. I can explain everything, but right now, I have to go. My teammates are in grave danger.
Sinister: Forget about them. They have the greatest help they can get coming their way. Meanwhile...
Sinister smirks underneath his mask.
Sinister: I sense dissent.
Mari: Huh?
Sinister appears behind Renard and gives him a heavy chop on his shoulder, bringing him down on one knee. Renard remains silent. Not letting out so much as a groan.
Mari: But sir...I must ask you to stop.
Sinister kicks Renard to ground, sits on him and begins to pound away on his masked face, damaging the mask with every strike as he replies Mari while enjoying the beat down.
Sinister: Why is that?
Mari: The law requires you to halt your disciplinary measures till reports are filed and properly assessed. Also, the potential guilty person has to stand a fair trial...like I did, sir.
Sinister: I know. What a hectic process, don't you think? I'd rather do things like in the good old days. Nice old fashioned methods.
Part of Renard's mask is in pieces at this point and falling away, revealing his bloody face.
Mari yells.
Mari: Captain!
Sinister stands up and turns towards Mari.
Sinister: What are you yelling for? This has nothing to do with DDI. Just a simple father and son affair. A child messes up big time and the father straightens the child. Isn't that right, Renny boy?
Renard still doesn't respond. He just lies there, silent and staring at the moon. Mari is shocked to the bone.
Mari: Renard is your son?
Sinister: Why don't you answer that, son.
Renard opens his bloody mouth to speak.
Renard: I am.
Sinister: That's better.
Sinister goes back to 'straightening' his son. Mari is very disturbed by the scene and decides to leave.
Mari: I'm sorry, sir, but I have to go now. I'll find my way around here. I need to get to my teammates.
Mari turns to leave.
Sinister: No. You stay here. That's an order. You have a case before the council already. I don't think you can afford disobeying another order. Not that I'd let you anyway.
Mari: Sir...
Sinister: Go on and apologize to Mari, boy.
Renard mutters an apology, still staring at the moon.
Renard: I'm...sorry.
Sinister: I'm sitting on you and I can't hear you. I don't think Mari can, when he's wayyyyy over there.
Mari: I can. I forgive you.
Sinister: Well, I can't. Say it like you mean it, boy!
Sinister punches Renard in the face once more. Renard spits out blood from his mouth as he screams out an apology.
