Izebel POV:
I've been sitting at the police station for what feels like forever. I have at least a gazillon thoughts circling my head.
They're dead. Dead. Finally dead.
But brothers? They probably messed something up. Idiots.
"Ms. Katz?" My eyes wander up to a police officer. "Your brother is here to take you home." He motions for me to follow him.
I sigh as I get up and follow him out the door and into a separate room. There's a man standing there who looks like he's a million feet tall. His eyes shift to me, and immediately light up.
"Hi." He says, he opens his arms. Like he's going to hug me.
Without thinking I move towards the wall, flinching.
"Don't touch me." I snap. Immediately he closes his arms and crosses them.
"Im sorry." He says gruffly. "It wasn't my intention to scare you." He turns back towards the officer. "Is there anything else I need to sign?"
"No, sir. Everything is completed. You're free to leave."
"Great." The man says, looking around. He turns to me. "Where's your stuff?"
"The entire house burnt down." I snap. "Everything went to ashes." His face turns slightly red.
"Right. Let's go then shall we?" I roll my eyes and follow him out the door to his...what the hell??
A red Ferrari is parked with three black SUVs on either side. Men dressed in black suits surround them.
"Hell no." I say, stopping. He turns to me, confused.
"What's with all the guards?" I ask, my eyebrow raising.
"Oh that." He scoffs. "The family...your family... we're quite powerful. We own... plenty of things. I'd rather have them here as a safety measure. We lost you once... I won't lose you again." With that he turns, continuing to walk to the car.
I slowly follow after him, my heart beating fast.
"Here." He says as he opens the door to the back seat. I give him a small nod and climb in.
For awhile we drive in silence until I find the courage to start asking my millions of questions.
"So where are we going?" I ask
"New York. Well, now we're going to the airport."
"To fly?" I ask. "In a plane?"
"Yes." He smirks. "That's what an airport is." I roll my eyes at his non amusing sarcasm.
"You said you lost me." I say, urging him to explain.
"Yes." He says, his hands gripping the wheel. "You lived with us until just after your second birthday."
"What happened?" I ask.
"We were attacked." He says, anger glued to his words.
"So it took you thirteen years to find me?" I ask. He turns to me, confused by my question.
"You don't believe me." He says, turning away from the road. I don't know what to say. I want to believe him. With every ounce of my being. But all of it sounds too good to be true.
"That's fine." He says dismissing the subject. "One of your other brothers can take you shopping tomorrow to replace your old clothes."
"Other brothers?" I ask, raising my eyebrow. He chuckles, shaking his head.
