I woke up with a pounding headache.
Great. What a fantastic way to start the first day of my new personal hell.
My plan was to act like I actually enjoy living here. That's the only way they won't suspect im trying to figure out why the hell they have a half dead man and hundreds of gun in the literal basement.
I pretty much blew it yesterday.
So today I needed to act like the little sister they're all expecting.
It's going to be hard.
"Izzi." Ivan calls, knocking on my door.
Don't be rude. Don't be rude.
"Hi." I say opening my door. He raises an eyebrow.
"What's with the sudden attitude change?" He asks.
"I slept good." I smile. He's not convinced. "Sooo...can I help you?" I ask in the sweetest voice possible.
"Noah wants you to come downstairs to eat something. Just because you're grounded doesn't mean you have to starve."
I flinch at the word starve. Shit.
"You ok?" He asks.
"I got...the chills." I lie. "Let's go." He steps back surprised and I follow him downstairs to the dining room.
Luckily the only one there is Lex and Noah. I don't think I could handle Noah and Blake at the same time.
"Good morning." I say, getting into an open chair. Lex and Noah both look at me like I have five heads.
"Why are you in a good mood?" Noah asks.
"You're mad that I'm in a good mood?" I ask, taking a bite of my toast. "Rude."
"When you get grounded you're not supposed to be in a good mood." He says, crossing his arms.
"He's joking." Lex intervenes. "It's good to see you smiling, Iz."
"Since you're here, I want you to tell me what you did when you ran away yesterday?"
"I got lost." I lie. If I told him about Elsah I'm pretty sure he would freak. "I was walking for hours."
He stares at me, trying to see if I'm lying or not. Luckily, I'm an excellent lier.
"Since you're grounded I ordered dresses to be brought to the house for the event tomorrow night."
"I'm still going to that?" I ask.
"Since all five of us will be there, I'm not leaving you home alone."
"I don't have to go." Ivan shrugs.
"We're all going." Noah snaps. He looks down at my plate. "Izebel, eat. Please."
"I did." I mumble, pushing my plate away. "I'm full."
This is actually true.
"Fine." Noahs says, defeated. "All the dresses are in your room. Come show me which one you picked. I'll be in my office."
"Ok." I smile as he gets up and leaves, taking one last look at me and then shaking his head.
"Let me know if you need any help Iz." Lex says following Noah.
"I'm onto you." Ivan smirks.
"You've only known me for a week." I smile, taking a sip of my water.
"No one has mood changes that quickly." He counters. I tilt my head and smirk.
