Izebel POV:
I woke up to see blankets wrapped around myself like a taco.
Odd. Kind of creepy. Sleepily I pushed them off me and managed to get off my bed.
"Izebel?" I heard a knock at my door. "May I come in?" It was Lex.
"Sure." I mumbled, still half asleep. I watched as he opened my door and walked inside.
He was wearing a suit and a warm smile on his face.
"Did you sleep alright?" He asked. I nod. "Good." He says relaxing. "We'll be leaving soon. I recommend grabbing something to eat before we leave."
I nod again and then he stands there awkwardly.
"You might want to leave." I smirk, tilting my head. "I do need to change."
An even bigger smile somehow finds a way to his lips and he leaves, closing my door behind him.
Privacy. How relaxing.
I open my closet and quickly put on a giant hoodie and sweatpants.
I'm a little nervous to go shopping. My foster parents never took me. The only reason I stepped inside of a store is to buy ibuprofen...which did not end up well for me.
I move to the bathroom, I can't tell if I'm imagining the pungent smell from last night or if it's still lingering.
Regardless, I manage to brush my tangled hair into a ponytail and braid it.
Then I take a deep breath before walking downstairs to the kitchen.
Lex and Ivan are the only ones there. Lex is cooking something that smells... really good.
Ivan is staring hard a book. They both turn to me.
"You're going to die from heat exhaustion in that." Ivan mumbles, looking at me.
"This is all Blake gave me." I shrug.
"Figures." Ivan says, getting up. "Come on, Lex we don't have all day."
"Ace isn't even here yet." Blake says, walking in. He places his hand on Ivan's shoulder.
"Fine, I'll get him." Ivan groans, retreating upstairs.
"I trust you slept well last night, Izebel?" Blake asks, taking out his phone.
I pause before answering. For the first time in ages... I didn't have any nightmares.
"Iz?" Lex asks. I quickly snap out of my trance, the both of them are staring me down.
"I slept fine." I say quickly.
"Good." Blake says slowly. "Noah is in the office. He wants to see you."
"She has no idea where that is, Blake." Lex says gently.
"I'll show you." Blake grunts, giving Lex a dirty look. He turns and I practically have to run to keep up with him.
"Here." He says. He pushes open a door that reveals an extremely dark office with Noah sitting inside, looking closely at a computer.
"You can come in." He says gruffly.
Silently, I walk into the room and sit across from Noah.
"You can leave." Noah says, finally looking up to look at Blake.
Blake rolls his eyes, but disappears.
"So." Noah says, rubbing his hands together. "Let's get this over with."
