Jake's Younger Sister

"Amora, I can explain," Colby stated calmly however I was confused and to be truthfully honest; angry. The last time I had seen him he had a girl wrapped around his finger but now he's begging me to give him a second chance?

I huffed in annoyance at my thought, however, I let him talk. "After we 'broke' up, I met this girl at a party and invited her over. Just to talk, I had gone to the bathroom and that's when you arrived." He began "When you tried to open the door, I didn't want you to because I knew she was in there but I didn't know she was naked." Colby confessed which sounded true. I stayed quiet for a moment thinking about if he was lying or not.

"I didn't touch her, I swear." Colby asserted and that's when I knew he was telling the truth as he had told me the same when he was drunk. "You told me that when you were drunk and I picked you up," I replied relieved, I wrapped my arms around his broad shoulders and brought him closer to me, and he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Like I said, drunk words are sober thoughts." Colby lightly chuckled. I giggled at his words but knew what he was saying was true.

However, after a moment I pushed Colby away and stopped hugging him. "I'm thankful that you told me the truth and apologised but I'm still weary of us." I voiced, anxious for his reply. "Of course, I get it but I promise I'll show you that in my eyes, you're worth it Amora." Colby smiled softly.

For the rest of the night, we watched a movie with Kat until she went to bed and we lay in each other's arms while the movie finished. I was happy to have Colby back in my life but until he can show me that I mean something to him, we'll continue as friends. 

Once the movie had finished Colby asked what time it was, It was 10:34 p.m. Colby decided to go home which made me sad to see him go but he was right. I walked him to the door while he had his car keys in hand, "Drive safe, okay?" I started worried. Colby chuckled lightly at my worry, "I always do love." Colby replied as he leaned on the door frame. I blushed a bright pink at the pet name he had given me and glanced up at him.

Before he left, I leaned in and gave him a peck on the cheek. Colby flashed a wide grin and wished me goodnight before walking away to his car. As I closed the front door, I felt content. Everything was falling back into place and I couldn't be more grateful for that. 

Once I had settled into bed, I texted Jake what had happened and thanked him for letting me try again with Colby, I know this is uncomfortable for him as I am his younger sister who's dating one of his best friends but he's trying his best and I appreciate that dearly.

I fall asleep instantly, which hasn't happened in a long time.
