My eyes fluttered open the next morning to the sound of my haunting and generic alarm. I yawned lightly before sitting up in bed, glancing out my window and to my surprise it had been snowing.
White thick snow covered the ground, it continued sprinkling from the sky. I loved the snow, it reminded me of Jake and I's sad Christmases but the best parts, when we would wake up, jump out of bed and put on our old snow gear.
We would run around in the glistening snow, making snow angels, sledding on pieces of cardboard we collected from the house and having extreme snowball fights.
The snow was like a Christmas present all in one.
I smiled at the thought, reminiscing about our best memories and how they were always together and Adelina of course, before she got too sick to come out and play. I glanced down at my promise ring from Colby, the exact one Adelina and I dreamed of for weeks.
I wish she was here, she would've adored Los Angeles. A colossal, tumultuous and beautiful city. She was always so energetic and enthusiastic, never afraid to show who she truly was. She would've fitted in perfectly.
I pondered about her and our childhood when my phone buzzed loudly. I peered over at my phone, picking it up. A text from Colby.
A slight smile wavered on my face. He was asking if the girls and I would like to come over and prepare for tomorrow as they were hosting. I sent a quick text to the girls, gaining positive replies before replying yes to Colby.
We were to be over at 1:00pm.
It was currently 11:45am.
Which then I decided was the perfect time to wrap all of my gifts and pack my bag as I would be staying the night at Colbys.
I played my favourite songs through my headphones and into my ears at full blast. Giving me motivation to finish the arduous task, singing along to the Ultraviolence album.
I couldn't wait to see everyone's reactions to their gifts, I believe I did pretty well. Especially for Colby, I put a lot of thought into his. He deserved more than I could ever afford, the moon and the stars. He's been my world for the last year or so.
It's beyond weird to know that in a few month's time, it'll be my anniversary for moving to Los Angeles. In May it'll be two years. It feels like yesterday I hopped off the plane and ran into Jakes arms when previously we had nearly no contact.
Jake deserves more than I can credit for too.
He's my brother and the only reason I'm here right now, living my life. I adore him although he's an ass sometimes too. He's my best friend in a way.
I laughed at the fact I had just called my brother my best friend while wrapping my last present in my shimmery and festive wrapping paper. What a sad life Amora, giving him that title!
I shook my head while placing all my gifts into a box, I needed to bring them with me for the next morning. I still couldn't believe it was going to be Christmas day in a matter of hours, I felt like a young kid - full of excitement and anticipation.
I stood up, feeling accomplished and ready to finally pack my bag, the easy part. I grabbed a pair of pyjamas, my Christmas day outfit and my necessities like my phone charger, my jewellery and my makeup.
I zipped up my bag, placing it on my wooden floor and jumping onto my bed. I checked the time, 12:45pm. My eyes widened and I instantly hopped out of my bed.
great! I had given myself fifteen minutes to get ready.
I raced to my bathroom, quickly going through my routine of skincare and makeup. I ran to my wardrobe after and pulled out my navy white fox lounge set and pulled on my blue and white new balance 550s shoes.
