THIRD PERSON POV

HAWKINS POOL, HAWKINS INDIANA

Mike and Lucas were able to get a hold of Max and El, and when they arrived at Mike's, Will told them about the Mind Flayer. Max thought Billy could be a potential host for the Mind Flayer, since El had spied on him, and they all agreed to go to the pool.

Currently, they stood in the parking lot, Max holding up binoculars to see Billy.

"He's definitely acting weird," Felix confirmed. "How many times have you seen him wearing a shirt? Especially at the pool."

Max nodded. "Well, I mean, yeah, it's a little weird... God, I hope it's not you..." She mumbled the last part.

"Okay, let's go... boys only." Mike nodded. Max scoffed. "Just trust me! And keep watch!" The boys followed Mike, and they gathered stuff to trap Billy.

Will grabbed a chain. "This should hold him."

Lucas sighed. "Look, Will, I'm really sorry—"

"It's fine, I'm over it... We have bigger problems now." Will quickly left.

~~~
They had successfully trapped Billy in the sauna.
"Let me out of here, you little shits!" Billy banged on the door.
"I'm sorry Billy..." Max sighed, looking away. Billy laid down, and started to cry.
"Max... I'm sorry, he made me do it, it's not my fault..." Billy cried, drawing Max closer to the door. Felix could tell she was truly feeling sad for her step-brother.
Max shed a tear. "Who made you do it, Billy?" She placed her hand on the glass.
"Please believe me, Max, it's not my fault..." Billy's hand slid closer to a piece of broken tile.
Felix's eyes widened. "Max, get away from the door!"
"What?" She looked back. Felix grabbed her wrist, pulling her back. Felix stood protectively in front of his younger friends.
"He can't get through that chain, right?" Lucas nervously spoke. He spoke to soon. The chain snapped, and Billy was free. Black veins protruded from his face, and, really, all over his body.
He smiled. "You're in for it now, you little shits."
Felix pressed his fingers to his temples. He used his telepathy to contact his friends. "Get back..."
Felix lifted a training weight with his mind, and threw it towards Billy. He pushed it away, stepping towards Felix. Felix rolled out of the way, before he could touch him. Eleven stepped in, but Billy grabbed her throat, choking her. Felix stepped towards Billy, getting his face punched in the process. He lifted his hands, shooting Billy through the brick wall, freeing El from his grasp. Felix lifted his hand to his stinging cheek.
~~~

Felix, Max, and El were in the bathroom in Mike's basement. Max was helping El sooth the bruise Billy had made on her neck, and Felix was pressing a cool washcloth to the forming bruise on his cheek. He sighed as the left arm of his navy-blue hoodie rolled up, revealing the number 004. A constant reminder of his past. That, and the scar across his eye.

"Does it still hurt?" Max asked El.

"Only when I talk." She looked at the red mark on her neck.

Max smiled. "Well, it's a good thing you're not Mike then. Blah, blah, blah, you'd be in constant pain." The three laughed.

Meanwhile, Will, Mike, and Lucas were outside.

"So, are you guys cool now? Or, are you still broken up?" Lucas asked Mike.

Mike got defensive. "We're just... taking a break."

"Mike, she said she dumped your ass, that doesn't sound like a break!" Will rolled his eyes.

Felix's voice came through the door. "It wasn't! You do realize we can hear everything you're saying, right?" Mike's face went pale.

"They're so dumb." Max laughed, causing the other two to laugh as well.

~~~
Jonathan and Nancy eventually showed up, talking about how Mrs. Driscoll had an interesting episode, as if she, too, was flayed. They had come to the conclusion that both Billy and Mrs. Driscoll were flayed, and there were others out there too. They all went to the hospital, to see Mrs. Driscoll. Only two were allowed at a time, so Nancy and Jonathan went, while the rest stayed in the waiting room.
Mike and Lucas were at the vending machine, talking about how to get Eleven back.
"I'll distract Max, and you can go talk to El." Lucas came up with a plan.
Mike nodded. "Okay," he banged in the vending machine. "Oh, come on, you piece of shit." Eleven knocked all the candy out using her powers.
She gave him a small smile.
"Thanks!" Mike smiled back
Will got up to go sit with Felix, so Mike and El could talk. Felix was so invested in the 'IT' book, by Stephen King, that he didn't notice Will sit down.
"Is that any good?" Will asked.
Felix jumped slightly. "You scared me a little bit... yeah, it's good, but I don't think I'll be sleeping for a few days."
Will laughed. "I'll have to check it out." He smiled at Felix. Felix looked up, noticing a flicker in the lights. He got up, slowly walking towards the elevators. He had a terrible feeling in his stomach.
"Two visitors at a time!" The receptionist yelled.
Felix gestured for the rest of the party to follow him. Will felt it too, and so did El. They went up, and saw Nancy and Jonathan. Nancy was trapped in a room with a giant monster, and Jonathan was yelling for her, attempting to open the locked door. Felix stepped in, broke the door open, threw the monster to right with his mind, then to the left, up, and out the window. Jonathan pushed through to Nancy.
"Are you okay?!" Jonathan knelt beside her, hugging her.
She nodded, out of breath. "Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you so much, Felix." He smiled, and wiped the blood.
"I am glad to have been of service."
(I know IT wasn't released yet in 1983 lmao!!)
