FELIX'S POV

HAWKINS HIGH, HAWKINS INDIANA

I stood in front of the mirror in the boy's washroom, looking at the bloody spot on my lip. I wiped my hand across it, wincing. I jumped as the door opened. It was Eddie.

"Hey, dude, you alright?" He smiled at me. Normally, he wasn't a super caring guy. But, he was still a good friend nonetheless.

I nodded. "Yeah, I'm good. Don't worry."

"Alright, good. I swear I'm gonna beat that guy up so hard..." he smirked, changing the topic. "So, you excited to see your little boyfriend tomorrow? Henderson—the other one, not you— told me all about it. Wheeler even talked about it." He draped his arm around my shoulders, leading me into the hallways, that were rather deserted during the lunch hour.

I blushed a little. "H-He's not my boyfriend... and yeah, I am..."

"Oooh, Henderson is blushing!" Eddie laughed. "Keep me updated on what happens. I need to know if you're okay." I had known Eddie since I was in ninth grade, so my whole high school career. He noticed my Metallica shirt on my first day, and took me under his wing. He wasn't... nice, per se, only really to people he cared about. He wasn't nice to me at the start; he would throw me around and hit me sometimes, but slowly, he began to trust me, and he's one of the coolest people I've ever known, especially now that I've broken through his shell.

"I will, don't worry. You better not get into too much trouble while I'm gone. Don't get yourself killed, or something." I laughed, and he pushed my head, then ruffled my loose curls a little.

"I won't, don't worry, man." He smiled, as we walked back to the lunchroom.

I sat cross-legged on my bed, listening to my mixtape. I had a friendship bracelet that was in the works, pinned to a pillow in front of me. It was for Will. His birthday was tomorrow, and I had decided to make him two bracelets. One was a really thick one, that I had sprayed with my cologne that Will had once said he liked. The other was thinner. I ended the bracelet, smiling at my work. I grabbed my alarm clock, and set it for 5:30 a.m. I packed up any last-minute things into my duffel bag, and went to put my pyjamas on.

I turned on the fluorescent lights of our bathroom, and ran my toothbrush under the water. I squeezed a large glob of mint toothpaste onto the bristles, and began brushing. My mom was out in the living room, watching TV, and my brother was at a D&D campaign. I wasn't there, because I technically wasn't an official member of Hellfire. I headed back to my bedroom, got under the covers, and turned my lamps off.

WILL'S POV

LENORA AIRPORT, LENORA CALIFORNIA

I was sitting in the airport beside Eleven and Jonathan. I was holding onto the painting I had recently finished. I sat eagerly waiting, and Eleven was smiling. Finally, I saw them. Felix was wearing a black tank top, and black athletic shorts. He had a silver chain around his neck, his wrists were adorned with bracelets, and his fingers had beautiful rings on them. Felix was glaring at Mike; most likely because of his outfit. Felix did a light jog over, and Mike followed.

"Long time no see, Byers!" I basically jumped into his arms, burying my face into his neck. He smelled so good. "How are you?"

"Oh my god, I can't believe you're here... and, I'm good!" I smiled. I bit back the tears. I was so happy in this moment. Mike gave me a high-five. I watched as Felix hugged Jonathan and El, who latched onto him as he hugged her.

"So, uh, which one's the gay one?" Argyle looked from Mike, to Felix.

Felix raised his hand awkwardly. "Was it not obvious?"

"You're right, dude... now I see it!" He laughed, pulling Felix in for an awkward hug.

~~~
We walked through the airport, heading out to the van. Felix walked beside me, and his muscular arm touched my arm. I lightly blushed.
"So, uh, what's the plan for today?" Mike wrapped his arm around El's shoulders. Felix smiled at them. I felt a little jealous... I wanted what they had... with Felix, perhaps.
"We're going to go have burritos — yes, for breakfast, they're really good — and then, we're going to Rink-O-Mania!" Eleven smiled.
"Are we meeting any of your friends there?" Mike asked.
"Friends, what friends?" I got slapped in the chest with Eleven's bouquet of flowers from Mike.
"Yeah, Angela and Stacey!" Eleven gave me a look, telling me not to say more. "You'll meet them. Just not today. I want today to be about us!"
Felix leaned down towards my ear, and I felt blush creep onto my face. "Weren't they the bitches you were telling me about?"
I chuckled a little. "Yep. I think she's been lying to Mike..." He nodded, taking my hand, and walking faster to catch up.
RINK-O-MANIA, LENORA CALIFORNIA
I watched Felix tying up his skates. His side profile was beautiful.
"Take a picture, Byers, it'll last longer." And his accent... He got up, and skated a little bit.
"I didn't know you could skate!" I watched him.
He nodded. "Yeah, I used to skate with my dad a lot... you know, before the lab and stuff..." Mike came back with his socks, and put his skates on. Mike and El went onto the rink, and I followed a bit behind, feeling like a third-wheel.
"You feeling left out?" Felix appeared at my side.
I looked at him. "Um... yeah, a little. But, it's fine!"
He clicked his tongue. "Nope. It's your birthday, and I'm not gonna let you have a bad one." He grabbed my hand, and smiled at me.
I wanted to cry. He remembered.
We skated around together, laughing, and I fell once, but he helped me up.
"Hey, wanna get milkshakes?" Felix eventually asked. I nodded, and we got them. We claimed a vacant table, and sat across from each other.
"So, I have a gift for you," he dug his hand into his pockets, and pulled out two beautiful bracelets. "This one, I sprayed with the cologne you liked. And this one, matches with one of mine. Happy birthday, Will." He flipped my wrist over, and began tying the bracelets.
"Felix... thank you so much... no one else remembered." I was now really on the verge of tears.
He kissed my knuckles, and smiled at me. "It's not my fault they're asses who can't remember their own friend's birthday. I'll try to make your day less shit, okay?"
"You already have."
