"Scott? What are you saying?" I tried to speak in the calmest voice to assure the people in the restaurant everything was fine.
But Scott was just too far gone this time.
"Be very wary as the battery remains. So preserve your tools, and your life remains."
Scott was twitching as he was saying this and even speaking in a louder manner, his voice was being heard by everyone.
I needed to think of something, fast.
"I'm sorry everyone! My boyfriend here is very ill and I apologize for the interruption!"
I yanked Scott's body upwards out of his seat and put cash on the table. I dragged along Scott as he kept sputtering nonsense and scaring away customers.
"Time has arisen to be careful of the decisions you make."
"I'm sure it has."
"Check the vents for protection, from broken down hallucinations."
"You clearly didn't check the vents."
Scott and I continued at this while walking to the car, he wasn't necessarily violent, but I would rather have him in a normal state of mind where he can speak to me properly.
"I'm going to drive us home now since you want to start babbling."
"I'll pass you the recordings of the original voice. He'll never leave you be."
-
I called Vincent and he was going to be here any minute. I told him Scott was harmless right now so he was in no rush. Still, I don't want him stuck like this forever.
But I also don't know if that remnant is a good idea for him either.
"I'm the phone guy." Scott said once again, in his psychotic state.
"I know that, Scotty."
There was a sudden knock at my door and I rushed over excitedly. I was done conversating with Scott, it was unbearable. I just wanted him to be normal again, normal forever. I wish we could just figure this out.
"Do you have it Vincent?" I let the purple man in, he had a bag with him, which I assumed contained the mysterious remnant. I led him to the couch where Scott was as he responded.
"Of course I do. It'll get him back to normal in a few seconds when I inject it."
I nodded as we arrived in the living room. Vincent set the bag down on coffee table and got started with the needle. I tried to distract Scott so he wouldn't be alarmed by the purple liquid Vincent had.
"What's your favorite color?"
"What made you presume this was the job for you?" He retorted back. Knowingly or not, I will never find out.
"That's nice, mines probably F/C." Vincent put the remnant into the needle and walked behind Scott.
"Pirate Cove is a blare. Just keep an eye on the guy, you'll be prepared."
"Pirate Cove, huh? Talk to me about Foxy. I know he's your favorite."
Scott was about to speak again, but Vincent injected Scott with the serum and he words fell silent. He twitched around more than before and I was worried the remnant hadn't worked but when his eyelids fluttered open, I knew he was back to normal when I could see a glint again.
"Y/N? Why aren't we at the restaurant?" Scott looked around my home, confused. He looked at Vincent, then the needle and understood.
"You flipped out at the restaurant. I had to take you home and Vincent had to inject that remnant again."
"I'm so sorry. I ruined our date." Scott looked down at the floor, refusing eye contact with either of us. Vincent just stood there awkwardly.
"I think I should get going now. I'll see you guys around." Vincent smiled and waved briefly before making his exit. I smiled back. At least he knew not to intrude on our moment.
"It's okay, Scott. At least we'll remember this date now." I chuckled a bit to lighten the mood. His head shifted up a bit so his eyes met mine.
"I'd remember any date with you, Y/N." Scott admitted wholeheartedly. He scratched the back of his neck and blush embedded his cheeks.
"So would I, Scotty." You grabbed his hand and held it. "And there will be plenty more dates for us to go on."
Scott was acting pretty bashful tonight and simply smiled in response. I decided to sit down on the couch with him so we can actually have a date night without being interrupted. He put on our favorite show, and we both cuddled together on the couch.
"Do you think I'll have another episode soon?" Scott clutched onto my waist tighter, slightly panicked.
"I think that dosage of remnant will hold you off for now. And if it happens, we'll just have Vincent come back and inject more."
He sighed, his muscles and body relaxing again.
"You're right. I'm glad I have you, Y/N."
"I'll always be here for you Scotty." Your eyes were glued to the TV, unsure of what Scott's current expression was.
"Y/N?"
"Yeah?" I turned towards him.
"Never mind."
