We arrived at Els' house,I waited in the car as Joyce and Will went inside to talk to Hop and El. After about half an hour Will and El,along with Max, walked over to the car. I stepped out of the car,looking at El and Max.
“Hey Corey,this is El,or Eleven. She's hops adoptive daughter.” Will explained “and this is Max,she's in our class.”
“yeah I remember meeting her briefly,but it's nice to meet you El,and you again Max.” We walked inside and El sat me down in front of the coach.
“So Will says that,you've seen the upside down in a dream…is this the first time?”. I looked at her.
“the upside….the what?” I asked.
“The place you saw in your dream” Will explained.
“Oh! That's what it's called? I'm shocked it even has a name- ''I trailed off “how do you know about that place?” I asked.
“Long story,but first I need to know,how many times have you been there?” El asked. “I…it was my first time in that location but,I've seen something similar before. When I was asleep on my drive here I saw it,a few times actually,and a few times before I moved”. I said looking at her “now how do you know about it?”
“I've been trapped there for weeks,” Will said.
“and I opened a gate to it once by mistake-” El continued,
“and me and Joyce have been inside of it before” Hop finished. I went quiet.
“so…what I saw…was it…real?” I asked. El looked at me
“Only one way to find out”.
“I'm sorry you're going to what? How is that even possible?!” I asked for the 6th time. “We're going to put you to sleep, and I'll enter your brain and I'll help you throw this dream. There must be a reason you're seeing it,it's too random to say it's a coincidence” El explained. I blinked.
“I get that but how the hell are you getting inside my brain?!”.
“Corey,Eleven has powers. Show him El” Will said looking at El. She nodded and started making us float,her nose bleeding abit before putting us down. I was shocked and looked at her, then at myself, then at her again.
“wha-”.
Max chuckled before going serious.
“trust us,you'll be ok”. I looked at Will and sighed.
“alright.” After 20 minutes or so everything was ready. I was told to lay down,so I did. Put her arm on my shoulder.
“I'll meet you there” she said with a smile and then closed her eyes. Joyce looked at me.
“Alright, here goes nothing” she said and ejected me with a needle in my neck,knocking me out right away.
I looked around, I was in the same cabin, but it looked…different,Then I saw el.
“El where am I?” El looked at me
“upside down,come on,let's head to Will’s house”.
“how? That's a hella long walk you realize that right?”.
“Yes,but I know a shortcut.” I raised an eyebrow and followed. As we walked I noticed something moving in the corner of my eyes.
''el- ''
''Be careful of vines,hivemind. There's nothing here right now”
“uh…ok-”. We carefully walked off. I followed her footsteps carefully.
Max was pacing back and forth.
“where are they”
“Max”
“Will,it's been 2 and a half hours this is out of control,I'm waking Corey up” Max went to shake Corey awake but as soon as she touched him a bright light flashed and then she fell.
“Max!’ I yelled and rushed to her, noticing she was still breathing and sighing.
“thank God-”
As me and El walked into Will's house Max landed shaking.
"Where the fuck am I?!".
El turned around.
"Max?! What did you do?"
"Nothing! I tried to shake Corey awake and- ''
''and it pulled you in here, don't worry,once Corey's body wakes up you'll wake up as well" El finished.
"But how did I end up in Corey's dream?I don't have powers, '' Max asked.
"Oh, there might've been a slight malfunction with when I used my powers to reput Corey into his dream,anyone who touches Corey while in the dream will get sucked in,in other words, until Corey wakes up he's a living portal to the upside down" El explained. Max started to look around.
"So is this the real upside down?"
"Hard to say, Corey, you said someone was screaming for help before they were killed right in this house?" El asked.
"I don't know if they were killed but I know for sure I saw blood" I walked over to where I saw it "it's clean,they don't happen to have fabric cleaner down here do they?" I asked. El chuckled.
"if it was blood,it would've stayed,so no Max it's not the real upside down".
"But leaves the question,if it wasn't real,why is he seeing it?” Max asked. I stayed quiet for a second before my thoughts were interrupted by a growl. I jumped.
“t-that's exactly what I heard last time-”. Suddenly a Girl,with long black hair,with purple highlights and darker skin,ran fiercely from something and stumbled into the house. “T-that's the girl I saw last time!”. El looked at me.
“t-thats my sister-” “is there any way she can hear us?” Max asked. Before El could answer a creature,Humanoid jumped through the ruff and landed on El’s sister and bit her leg,as she screamed for help. I blinked before picking up a splintered piece of wood and threw it at the creature. It roared and ran towards me,but Max shoved me out of the way. Then El disappeared.
El opened her eyes and grabbed a warm cloth and shoved it in Coreys face. Seconds later him and Max woke up,hyperventilating.
“El what the fuck was that thing?” Max asked immediately . El didnt say anything for a second before looking at me before she spoke.
“a full grown demogoron.” El explained everything and we sat in silence. After she explained something dawned on me.
“Why would your sister be in coreys dream with the upside down?”
. “It must be a sort of message,but I'll have to decode it.” Silence fell over us once more.
