We arrived at the byers house,Steve was carrying Corey while we walked in after he passed out. We had remained quiet for most of the journey,we had nothing to say to each other. We finally stepped in and It looked like a mess.
"We need to contact the others" I said and started looking around
"Are we sure this will work?" Robin asked. I looked at her for a second, thinking.
"Only one way to find out" I said before looking around and noticing something that caught my eye
We sat in the living room,no one said a word until the lights started Flickinger. Mom stood up,a look of deja vu crossing her face. I blinked
"their here-" I said looking at everyone
"Nancy?" Mike asked "if that's you do two blinks for yes"
The light blinked twice. We all sighed a sigh of relief.
El sighed.
"I'm going to open up a gate at Castle Byers,and I'm going to travel back with you,just meet me there,ok?". The light blinked again and El looked at us
"I'll be back soon,noone follow me" she said looking at all of us
"Be safe kiddo" Hop yelled
"I will," she said and left. I felt better knowing they were alive and more importantly ok. Charley looked at me.
"You alright?"
"Better now, knowing their ok" I said looking at him.
"It's hard, fearing you lost someone, but at least they're safe,you don't have to deal with the pain of actually losing them. That's something I'd never want you to go through" he smiled at me. I looked at him
"Why are you being nice to me?"
"Cause I'm not a complete asshole,I just did what I had to...to survive you have to adapt" he said looking at me. He was right there,I would know. It's what I did in the upside down.
"Look what I'm getting at is i'm sorry...for what I said when we met '' he said before continuing "your,cool for being yourself".
"Thanks" I said with a soft smile. From that point forwards,me and Charley were ok with each other
We talked for about half an hour about our lives,then Mom, Jonothan,Hop, Charley and Myself started to make dinner for everyone so when the others came back from the upside down they could eat right away. an hour and a half passed since we started. I started to grow restless. Bad thoughts started crossing my mind and I was freaking out inside. Thoughts like what if their dad,or what if I never see them again were really stressing me out .I was shaking nervously. El said she wouldn't be long so where was she and where was Corey?! Did something happen? Where the two main questions on my mind
"Will i'm sure they're alright,ok? '' Jonothan said. Gripping my shoulders so I would stop pacing
"It's been 2 hours," I said, looking at him nervously. He sighed.
"Will,I promise if they aren't here soon we can go out and find them". That calmed me down abit .
Eventually a knock was heard on the door. Karen ran to it
"Nancy!" She yelled and pulled her daughter into her arms hugging her. I stood up as Everyone came in. Everyone but one. My heart dropped
"Where's Corey-?" I asked. Nancy sighed
"we....got ambushed... Corey got knocked unconscious saving us...for the second time within the last 24 hours". I nodded without a word and wiped my eyes before I could cry. Soon Nancy and Jonothan carried Corey to my bed and placed him down to recover.
