"What we mean, is, do you want to come stay in our house, baby?" I finally get the words off of my chest.
Millie's P.O.V.
I don't even know how I feel right now. Now that I have said the words, anxiety is getting the best of me. What if Audrey says no? What if my little girl doesn't start hating me for even bringing that question? What if-
"Then where you live?" Audrey looks up at me with her big doe eyes. Oh my heart!
Neil cracks up beside me. "That's a very good question, precious." He ruffles her hair.
"We have many rooms in our house, baby." I cup her face, while she looks up at me in awe.
"Many?!" I nod. "Like this many?" Audrey stretches out her hands, trying to show 'many rooms'.
"Yes, baby. That many." I bop her nose, erupting her into giggles. No, Millie, now's not the time to get distracted.
"So, honey, do you want to stay at our house?" I ask once again.
"Will I get to eat fruit loops!? And Bubble Guppies!?" You can hear her voice getting excited while saying the words.
I put my finger on my chin, acting like I'm thinking. "Yes, pea, you will get those. But within limits, okay?" Audrey vigorously nods her head.
"And choco Misser Neil?" My baby girl turns her head to Neil. We have got a little dealer in our hands.
"Yes, of course, precious." Neil tells her with a smile and loving eyes. Now, there are two persons in this world who will get to see those eyes of Neil Mukherjee.
Audrey squeals loudly before wiggling out of my land. She starts to do a kind of victory dance, wiggling her little tushy. "Yay! Yay!"
Neil and I start laughing. My baby and her adorable antics.
"Les go!!" Audrey yells at us, excitedly.
"Calm down, buttercup. Don't work yourself up." I pull her to stand between my legs. "Let Mrs. Millie fix your hair up a bit." I tell her as I start doing her hair. My habit of keeping a comb in my purse, is finally getting to some use.
I watch as Neil goes up to my desk and crouches under it. Standing back up, he has our baby's shoes in his hand.
"Right first." Audrey tells Neil as he goes to put the left shoe first.
"Okay, sugar." Neil says ever so gently, before putting the tiny shoe in her tiny feet. I never thought I'd ever see Neil this soft and gentle, ever. Becoming a parent really changes you, I guess.
"Let's go!" Neil picks up Audrey as soon as her hair is done. He starts walking towards the door when I stop him.
"No, your car doesn't have a car seat. I'll take the baby." I say, totally because it's safer for her, and not because I want to be with our baby as much as possible. Yeah, totally.
"Do you think I don't know that? And that's why-" Neil pulls out my car keys from his pocket. That son of a bitch.
"See you later, wifey. Precious, say bye to Mrs. Millie." The smirk on his face is really ticking me off.
"Bye bye, Mrs. Millie." Audrey adorably waves at me before my husband walks out.
Neil's P.O.V.
Audrey touches my trimmed beard as we are in the elevator. "Cool." She whispers in awe.
"Is it, bug?" I ask her.
"Yes." She strokes her tiny chunky hand across my chin.
I playfully nuzzle into her cheeks.
