Millie's P.O.V.

I take Audrey's hand as we walk up the stairs. We tried to begin the house tour with ground floor, but my baby was having none of it. She begged and demanded to see her own room and our room first. So here we are.

"Faster, Mrs. Millie!" My girl commands me.

"Mrs. Millie is so slow, isn't she precious?" My husband teases from behind me.

"Yesh!" Audrey exclaims, sticking her tongue out.

"I'll take that tongue and put it in my pocket, young lady." I joke as I see my baby quickly covers her mouth with her other hand.

"Are you ready, peanut?" Neil and I both stand behind Audrey as we stand in front of her bedroom door. The dark wooden door is not the best choice for a kid's room, but I didn't have enough time for changing any major things.

"YEAH!!" Our baby jumps on her place in excitement.

"Go ahead, baby, open the door." I encourage Audrey.

Getting on her tippy toes, our peanut pushes open the door. My little girl's eyes go wide and she freezes at her place.

"Come on, precious. Step inside." Neil places his huge hand on her tiny back, crouching down. He smiles sweetly at our little one, when she looks back at him.

Audrey enters the room. This room is a blank canvas, as of now. A big white room with a toddler bed in the middle. A big window provides the natural light. There is a children sofa, which was too cute not to buy. Next to that, lies a bean bag. In one corner of the room, there is a rocking chair, with a shelf of children books. There is also a toy chest. Lastly, there are two doors. One leading to bathroom, the other to a walk-in closet.

My kiddo's curious eyes wander around the whole room.

She squeals loudly, turning around to us. She crashes into my legs, hugging my legs. "Thank you, Mrs. Millie and Misser Neil! Thank you! Thank you!"

I pick up my peanut, squishing her in my arms. "You're welcome, bug." I kiss her forehead. Neil hugs us, from behind. This is the most wholesome I've ever felt. I close my eyes, soaking in the moment.

It's when I feel wetness on my shirt, I open my eyes. Audrey is silently crying, her head buried in my shoulder.

"What happened, bubba? Did we do something wrong?" I ask nervously. She was so bubbly just a moment ago.

"Can you tell us what's wrong, precious?" Neil rubs Audrey's back as she is still hiding in my shoulder.

Audrey mumbles something which is too low for us to understand. "Can you speak up, baby?" I whisper next to her ear.

Audrey lifts her head up and looks at me. Her face is all red, with tears running down. "N-n-never had so b-big, so big r-r-room. T-thank y-you." My baby cries out with hiccups. "N-n-no one d-did an-anything l-like this f-f-for me."

My heart breaks hearing those words. I kiss her temple, hugging her tighter. I don't know what to say.

"Now, you have us, precious. And we have you." Neil says in a hushed tone, holding one of Audrey's hands.

I don't even realise I'm crying until a tiny hand wipes away my tears. "Don' cry, Mrs. Millie."

"I'm not, baby. I'm not." I croak out. "Something just got in my eye, that's it."

Audrey lays her head on my shoulder, keeping a tight grip of my shirt. Neil cups my face, giving me a long kiss.

"Yucky." Audrey speaks out in disgust, making both of us chuckle.
