Millie's P.O.V.
"Off! Off!" My little Audrey keeps tugging her sweatpants. We just entered my office, and she wants them off already. I swear this little girl hates pants like her life depends on it.
"No, baby. We're in the office. We have to stay presentable, right?" I say, crouching down in front of the couch she's sitting on.
My angel plops down on her back, whining.
Just then, my office door opens and Catherine enters. Only she has my permission to enter my office without knocking. And of course, Audrey.
"How've you been, Mrs. Mukherjee?" Catherine teases, knowing fully she can call me just Millie.
"Oh, shut up." I stand up, hugging her.
"Let me see the little one who has wrapped you around her finger." She gently pushes me away, crouching down in front of Audrey.
"Hi, kiddo!" Catherine waves at my little girl.
My shy baby quickly scampers out of the couch, crashing into me. "You scared her." I joke, picking up Audrey in my arms. She buries her head into my breasts.
"No, I did not!" Catherine gasps. Her story of scaring kids goes long way. One year on 'Family Day', she made almost every small kid cry.
"Looks like you did." I stop laughing when she starts glaring at me.
"Baby, can you say hi to Catherine?" I sit her up in my arms, getting her out of her hiding spot.
Audrey takes a quick glance at Cathy before looking at me. "It's okay, she doesn't bite."
"Hi." My baby mumbles softly, waving at my manager.
"Hi, kiddo!" Cathy dotes on her, making my little girl blush.
"I'm Catherine, what's your name?" Cathy takes Audrey's tiny hand.
"I Audrey." My little girl replies, ever so shy.
"Can I hold her?" Cathy looks at me, pleading.
"Do you want to go to Cathy?" I ask Audrey. Just as I try to pry her off me, she starts whining. "Okay, okay, you don't have to."
I shrug at Catherine.
"God! You're giving me a baby fever, Millie." She pouts, sitting down at the couch. "Anyway, let's talk business."
"What about it?" I sit down next to her, adjusting Audrey on my knee. "It's only a meeting today, right?"
"Yeah, about that. It was supposed to be one meeting but then I figured it's not a very long one. So, I arranged another meeting right after it. That way we will be ahead of our weekly schedule."
"Today? This is going to be a long day." I sigh.
"Why? You are getting tired doing two meetings? Age does take a toll on people." She jokes.
I swat her hand playfully. "It's not that. This little peanut has a fever going on."
"Oh no! I'll cancel the meeting then." Cathy looks at my baby pitifully. "You are sick, huh baby?" She asks, caressing Audrey's cheek.
"Not a baby." She huffs, wiggling down from my lap. Sticking her tongue out, as she runs around.
"We don't stick our tongue out." My little stern voice is enough for her to close our mouth.
"I better go cancel the meeting." Catherine says as she stands up.
"No, no, let's get the meetings done."
