The last three months had been an emotional roller coaster for both of our beloved Dallas Winston and Michelle Anderson.

Dally spent his nights drinking at Buck's and sleeping practically all day. The gang hardly saw him, when they got too worried they called him and checked up on him. Usually, after Dally went through a breakup, he'd hook up with so many broads he could hardly remember their names. This time, he wouldn't even flirt with a girl at a bar. Not even Sylvia. He still wouldn't, three months later.

Michelle cried herself to sleep many nights. Randy was practically by her side for all of it. He ushered Michelle to get over Dally, that Dally had moved on as well. When Michelle imagined Dally with another girl, it made her blood boil, and then she'd start crying. No matter what, she couldn't have done anything to prevent their breakup. So, why dwell on it?

Randy introduced Michelle to a boy named Steven whom Michelle used to be friends with in primary school. Steven was a cute boy, although he wasn't Dally, who was a nice Soc as well. He was a great guy, and eventually, Michelle and Steven started dating.

When Michelle told Ponyboy and Johnny about her newfound love, or rebound as Ponyboy said it was, they tried their best to keep the news away from Dally.

However, when you live in a small town such as Tulsa, news gets around fast. Dally found out and was furious that Ponyboy and Johnny didn't tell him sooner. He was furious that Michelle had moved on and he couldn't. Dally couldn't seem to get over Michelle, no matter how hard he tried.

"C'mon, Michelle, what did he say?" Johnny pleaded. Even if Johnny was Dally's best friend, he liked that Michelle had moved on. Everyone in the gang knew that Dally didn't cheat, even before Dally went on and on about how he didn't even go near Cherry.

"I don't know, Johnny. What if you guys get mad at me?" Michelle turned to the boys that sat eagerly on her bed.

Partly she was worried that they'd tell Dally and she knew that Dally was still miserable. Even if she hated him, she didn't want to make his life worse.

"We won't be mad, promise!" Ponyboy glanced at Johnny, it was a mutual agreement that they wouldn't tell Dally anything Michelle said unless he asked.

"Okay, well," she paused, before smiling brightly and holding up her hand, "Steven proposed! He said he wants to get married after we graduate!" Michelle squealed.

Ponyboy and Johnny stared at the large diamond in the middle of the golden band. Two medium size diamonds sat on either side of the large diamond and the rest of the golden band was lined with smaller diamonds.

"So your gonna be fiancé's for two years?" Johnny asked, trying to figure out how'd he'd keep this news away from Dally for two whole years.

"Are you not gonna go to college after you finish high school?" Ponyboy asked, knowing very well that Michelle dreamed of going to college. She wanted to live on campus and experience dorms, if Ponyboy had a choice he would've chosen to live off campus.

"I would like to, but the field of work I want to go into wouldn't be approved by my parents." Michelle chuckled awkwardly, remembering telling her parents that she wanted to be a part of Social Services and how they laughed in her face.

"Have you told...Randy?" Johnny hated saying his name, Michelle could tell he hated him too.

"No, not yet." Michelle shrugged, fixing her hair in the mirror. She really liked Steven, and the fact that he didn't cause any conflict with her family was relaxing, but did she love him? She thought she did, but when she was with Dally she knew she loved him. Maybe she was rushing it to get over Dally, but it was working. So why question it?
