•~Ponyboy's POV~•
I understood that Michelle was a Soc, yes I was very aware of that. However, I didn't understand how big a house could be until Johnny and I walked inside Michelle's house.

"My rooms upstairs." We followed her up the stairs as our eyes trailed the entire room.

She opened the door, and it looked like every girl's dream room. Lacy curtains, lacy bedding, fluffy pillows, light pink coasters, white dressers, white bedside tables, a huge bookshelf, and even a color-coordinated closet.

She looked back at us, noticing us staring.

"You guys can sit down if you'd like." I nodded and sat my bag on the floor before sitting on her bed. As did Johnny. She grabbed her notebook and sat down beside me. She pulled down her skirt a bit and I immediately felt terrible. Did I really look like the type of person who'd touch her like Dally?

"Your room's nice," Johnny spoke suddenly. Probably trying to break the uneasy silence.

"Thanks, Johnny." She smiled. "So how have you guys been?" She asked.

Johnny shrugged. I knew he'd say he was good, even though he came to our house to stay for the night. His parents kicked him out again.

"I'm good." She looked at me.

"I'm fine," I answered. She opened her notebook and got her pens. She looked so focused on something that wasn't happening.

"So did you think about what we could do?" I nodded.

"We could do how light affects a plant's growth." She nodded. "Michelle?" She looked up.

"Yeah?" I glanced at Johnny who nodded. We talked about it before we knocked on her front door. I was going to apologize for Dally. Since I knew he never would.

"I wanted to apologize, about Dally." She chuckled.

"It's fine Pony, it happens a lot. Guys think that's the best move to make on a girl." She shrugged. I glanced at Johnny.

"You're not mad?" She shrugged again.

"In the moment I was, I wish I didn't hit him but no not anymore. Life's too short to be mad at things forever." Johnny smiled.

"You're really smart." She looked up and smiled at Johnny.

"Thanks, Johnny." He looked down just as Michelle pulled her sleeve a bit. Johnny looked at me hurriedly. I wasn't sure what it was about. Usually, I could practically read Johnny's mind but now I couldn't understand what he thought at all.

I looked back at Michelle.

"So have you heard about Dally before?" She nodded.

"I'm sure everyone has. I've heard a lot of things about him." I gulped. What if the things she learned made her not wanna talk to us anymore?

"Dally's alright he just-"

"I'm not judging him." She smiled. "I barely even know him, why would I expect those things to be true if they aren't coming from him or his friends?" I stared at her.

Johnny was right. She is smart. She's book smart, and life smart. I'd never heard anyone say they didn't judge Dally besides our gang. When I first met Michelle, I thought she'd be like other Socs. Mean, hateful, and expected everything in life to be hers. However, she was the exact opposite. She thought everyone deserved to be treated well, no matter how much money they had. She didn't like that her cousin jumped Greasers and she never participated in it.

"Where'd you get the bruise from?"
