~To Be Together~

As the cars left the Perdpiriyawong estate, New could feel the excitement grow inside his stomach. Zee, who was sitting next to New, hadn't taken his eyes off of New since he saw him in the house. New could feel Zee staring and it wasn’t helping with his nerves. New slightly turned his head towards the man next to him and found Zee’s eyes staring back at him. He couldn’t help the heat rush to his cheeks and ears.

“Phi Zee, what’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?” New could already tell that his face was red. He swiftly turned his eyes away from Zee, looking down at the floor of the car.

“Nu, do you feel uncomfortable next to me?” Zee asked as he saw New’s behaviour. He couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful boy, but got worried that he might’ve scared New.

New looked up at Zee with a confused look on his face. Shaking his head, New gave Zee a smile reassuring him that he wasn’t uncomfortable.

“Why would I be uncomfortable Phi? You have no idea how happy I am to go on this outing with you. I’m just nervous, that’s all.” New held Zee’s gaze as he spoke, conveying his feelings.

Zee couldn’t help but stare back at New, feeling warmth from the younger's eyes. Zee smiled and turned away, turning his gaze to the moving cars outside his window. He has never felt like this before. He quickly glanced back at New and saw the younger looking out his window. Such a simple act, yet it made Zee’s heart skip a beat. The sunlight shining on New’s face made it seem as though it were glowing. Zee thought that he hadn’t seen anything so beautiful. He wanted to reach out his hand and touch New’s face, but controlled himself, so as to not scare New. He turned his gaze to the front of the car, and saw Kinn’s eyes staring back at him from the rear mirror. He couldn’t see the rest of Kinn’s face, just his eyes, but he could tell that Kinn was definitely smirking. He quickly averted his eyes away from Kinn, clearing his throat as he felt flustered, knowing he was caught by his head of security.

“5 minutes to rendezvous. Everyone to their posts.” Kinn spoke into his sleeve, commanding the team to get ready. 30 minutes before leaving New’s home, a group of men had gone ahead to the ruins and set up for the arrival of the heirs of Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai. They posted snipers and secret agents around the temples, to protect and keep Zee and New safe from danger.

“Copy that.” Porche replied back.

New could see the familiar road that led to the temples, and smiled as this was one of his favourite places. He would visit the ruins every once in a while and feel the rustic beauty of it. Another reason he would come and visit, was because of the rich history it held. The temples were over 700 years old and it dates to a distant past. New turned his head to look at Zee and saw that he was staring out the window, looking at his surroundings. New had a good feeling that today was going to be a good day.

(New’s POV)

I could sense Phi Zee’s excitement. I noticed that he had been fidgeting, shaking his leg as we neared the temples. I smiled, finding this little action cute. I turned my eyes to him once again, only to be met with his. I quickly averted my eyes, feeling heat all over my face as I was caught. My heart was beating uncontrollably.

“Be still.” I commanded. But it did not listen. I was afraid that Phi Zee was going to hear how loud it was beating.

The car came to a halt as we reached the gate. Khun Kinn spoke with the gateman, who opened the gate for us to enter.

“We’re here Khun Zee.” Khun Kinn spoke from the front of the car, announcing our arrival to the temples.

“Nu, let’s go.” Phi Zee opened his door and got off. He held the door and waited for me. I shuffled to the other side and climbed out, holding Phi Zee’s hand that he offered.

“Thank you Phi.” I smiled as I stood next to him.

Khun Kinn and the rest of the body guards that came with the entourage, started spreading out into different directions. Phi Zee placed his hand on my back leading me along a path.

We walked along that path for a while, in complete silence. I quickly glanced to my left, wanting to know what Phi Zee was doing. His hands were folded behind him and when our eyes met, we both turned our heads the other direction. I heard him clear his throat, and took in a deep breath, as if wanting to say something.

“So, how did you like the party last night? I hope you enjoyed your birthday party.” I turned my head once again to his direction and spoke, wanting to dissipate the awkwardness between us.

“Oh, it was really wonderful. I cannot thank your parents enough for such a grand and spectacular birthday party. I really enjoyed it.” Zee was looking at me as he spoke.

I nodded my head, feeling a blush reappear on my face. Just a simple compliment from him and I melt. I really need to control these emotions of mine. I could feel Zee’s eyes on me, so I looked up at him.

“I think we need to find a spot to sit and chat, because this awkwardness is bothering me.” I suppressed a giggle when I saw the expression on his face and nodded in agreement.

We walked to a bench under a tree and sat down, with me facing him. Now that Zee was facing me, I couldn’t stop the butterfly erupting in my stomach. Now that he was close enough, I could see how his eye lashes casted shadows along his cheeks and how he’d lick his lips to wet it. With him this close to me, I felt a warm feeling in my gut that I didn’t understand. Why was I feeling like this? Why couldn’t I look away when our eyes met? Those gorgeous sets of eyes that captured my heart the moment I saw them. Why do I feel like they’re looking right through me and into my heart, invading my private feelings and exposing them for what they truly are. As I sat there, looking at him and him looking at me, there was only one word that came into my mind, and that was love.

(End of New’s POV)
