~To Be Together~

Tik's POV:

“Teerak are you ready? We have to leave in 10 minut-”

Then I saw her. Adorned with a simple diamond necklace (which I gifted to her on her birthday) around her neck, her dress was the showstopper. The peach dress melted perfectly with her fair skin, adding more colour to her already rosy cheeks. A modest yet elegant dress that hugged her figure in all the right places, enhancing her beauty to an all time high.

“How do I look?” I heard her ask, but I found myself tongue tied.

“Really good huh! You don’t look bad yourself” she giggled as she threw her hands around my neck.

She smelled of rose petals, such a soft yet alluring fragrance I couldn’t do anything but close my eyes as I took it all in. We stood in the middle of the room in each other's embrace just allowing this moment for us.

Even after 36 years of marriage, and 2 children she still manages to make my heart beat uncontrollably.

“Ok we have to go, I told the boys that they had to be early, so we have to show a good example,” she looked into my eyes and I saw my world there. So I gently pecked her cheek and offered her my gentleman arm for her to hold, which she took with a smile.

“Let’s go” I said as we exited the room.

New’s POV:

“Are you dressed tho?” Nat asked on the phone.

My best friend was on the phone and was impatient because he was already at the ball, but I wasn’t there.

“Not yet, just about,” I said as I entered my closet and grabbed the suit that mother had picked out for the event. Never have I ever questioned my mother's fashion taste because she was the expert and as expected, the suit fitted me like a glove and of course designer.

“So who are you wearing tonight?” Nat asked again

“Dolce & Gabbana. I think it's from their latest collection. I heard mother saying that this was a piece that was specifically made for tonight’s event. They made these for both Nu and I.” I answered as I checked the tag. Yup, they were because I saw a hand written note inside the suit.

“Oh I cannot wait to see you. I bet both you and Nu will be the talk of the ball. Please just hurry up and come already, I’m missing my bsf” Nat complained and I could see his pouting face. I smiled.

“I’ll be there soon, ok. I have to get dressed so I’ll hang up. I’ll be there before you know it. Rak na” I said as I hung up.

Nat and I have been best friends since we were in kindergarten, as our parents were close friends as well. We went to the same high school and now the same college as well. He is majoring in Business Accounting, while I’m doing a double major in Engineering and Business at the Mae Fah Luang University (MFLU). We’re in our second year and are working hard.

I threw my phone on the bed and went into the dressing room with my crew ready to do hair and make up. The assistant sat me down and got started on my face and hair. I thank my parents gene for clear, fair skin, which was good, because I didn’t like putting on too much makeup. I told them to just do a natural look, nothing too heavy.

Kuea entered the room, also taking a seat and having his hair and make up done as well.

“Hia, what colour is your suit? Mine is like a burgundy with gold details.” I looked at Kuea with a smile as I could sense the excitement in his voice.

“Mine’s black with gold details. I’m sure you will be more handsome than Hia,” I teased and laughed as I saw his expression.

With hair and makeup completed, we went into our rooms again to put on our suits. It looked great and the material felt lightweight and breathable and I felt comfortable which was a plus. I put on the matching shoes, our family ring, my rolex and sprayed some perfume, before exiting my room to head downstairs. I checked my watch and saw that it was 5:45 pm.

“Nu Kuea, it’s time. We have to leave.” I called out to my brother.

Just as I finished my sentence, I heard footsteps coming down so I turned and smiled as I saw my handsome brother.

“Hia, I haven’t put on the bow tie. Please do it for me.” His hair was sleek back and he looked mature. I smiled as I took the material accessory and helped him with it.

“There, all ready. You will surely be turning heads.” I said as I turned him around to face me, satisfied with where the bow was sitting.

“Thanks Hia,” he said with a smile. “So will you.”

“Khun New, Khun Kuea good evening. Please follow us.” Porche and Barcode came in and led us out, to the front where the cars were waiting. Barcode led Kuea to the car behind mine.

“See you there Hia,” he smiled as he entered the car.

I smiled as I also entered my car. The door was closed and only after Porche made sure everything was all ready and was inside the car, then we pulled out of the main entrance to the gate, into the main road and towards the ball.

“Keep an eye out for any signs of disturbance. 15 minutes to reach the ball. Steady and together. Stick with the plan. Game face on ladies.” Porche instructed his men, the car ahead of us, Kuea’s car behind us and the other car behind that car. A 4 car entourage, fully armed bodyguards with bullet-proof windows.

“Copy that boss,” I heard Pete say and everyone else.
