"Hello Sophie"

"Why are you here?" she asked, fiddling with her sleeve.

"He wants to meet with you again...Alone" Oralie said, she gasped, Ruy wanted to meet with her alone.

"When?" she asked, maybe she could go when she could open her eyes so she could be more aware.

"Within a week" Sophie began to pace,

"Fine, but Keefe and Tam are right outside," she said.

"Sophie there's something else I wanted to talk to you about since you're eighteen," Oralie said quietly.

"What is it?" she asked

"I'm your mother," Oralie said quietly, Sophie gasped confused about how she could be her mother.

"Biological you mean?"

"Yes"

"Why are you telling me this now?"

"You deserve to know, and I want you to know that your biological parents, care about you," she said.  Sophie heard her leave, and sat down she realized she couldn't tell anyone.

Sophie was out in Havenfields pastures when she heard someone beside her. She breathed in deeply. Keefe. She had been unable to see her friends so she simply memorized their smell and breathing patterns.

"Hey Keefe, what are you doing here?" she asked. She heard him trip and snickered trying to hide her laughter.

"How did you know I was here?" he said, Sophie grinned he always smelled like hair product,

"You always smell like hair gel," she said matter-of-factly and sat down patting the ground beside her. He sat beside her,

"Really how did you know I wasn't Tam, he uses just as much hair gel," he said bumping her shoulder.

"Logic. he would tell me he was here so as not to scare me to the point I punch him, you just give off this I'm trying to be sly/prankster vibe you know?" she said grinning.

"Have you punched him?" he asked, and she knew he was raising an eyebrow.

"Actually yes, and I punch hard so I don't recommend startling me," she said laying down and propping her head up with her arms.

Keefe POV

Keefe stared at her, he couldn't wait to see her eyes again.

"I'm going to meet with him again, but he asked to be alone," she said, startling him from his thoughts.

"You agreed to this?" he asked, looking at her face.

"As long as I'm healed enough to see and open my eyes, yes I'm going to meet him," she said, Keefe could feel her panic, and while he didn't know everything that happened. He knew how she felt about Ruy, and he wanted to erase her trauma, so she wouldn't have to live with whatever nightmares she had at night that she told nobody about but Keefe knew were happening.

Keefe stared at her, as she sat up running her fingers through her hair. He reached out to stop them,

"Wait can I do your hair?" he asked remembering how silky her hair was when he touched it that one night 2 years ago. She hesitated for a few seconds before nodding, he moved behind her and ran his fingers through her hair. He began to put it in a braid that Biana had taught him how to do. She called it a fishtail braid. He felt Sophie relax as he braided, and he smile happy that she could relax around him.

"Done," he whispered quietly as he tied a piece of rope around it to hold it in place. She reached her hand back to feel it and turned around gasping,

"Keefe, you did this?" she asked, Keefe, blushed happily she couldn't see it for once.

"Yeah, Bi taught me," he said, cut off from saying anything else when she tackled him in a hug.  He laughed falling backward, he wrapped his arms around her.

"Thank you..." she whispered. He heard a muffled gasp and they both shot up, it was Fitz, oops Keefe thought, he liked Sophie too.

"Hey Fitz," Sophie said standing up and reaching a hand down to pull him up to his feet, he grasped it and stood up brushing himself off. He gave Fitz a warning look, he could tell Sophie was already panicking, probably thinking about Ruy catching her with him in the garden. Fitz looked really angry. Keefe shifted himself slightly in front of Sophie,

"Hey, Fitzy..." he said, putting his hands in front of him as if calming a frightened animal.

"How could you Keefe, you know I like her," Fitz said,

"Fitz, take some deep breaths before you say something you'll regret saying, and lose Sophie's trust," Keefe said quietly, stepping towards Fitz. Fitz glanced at Sophie, and Keefe did too she wrapped her arms around herself, obviously in a memory of Ruy. Keefe turned around meeting Fitz's fist.

"Fitz. Stop your scaring her" he said, rubbing his jaw, he felt a trickle of warmth go down his face. He wiped at it and looked at his hand. Blood.

"Back off, Keefe you know I like her so why would you do this," Fitz said

"I'm sorry Fitz but I'm not going to do that, all I was doing was braiding her hair," he said spinning around he walked to Sophie and touched her shoulder gently aware that she was on the verge of a panic attack.

Sophie POV

Sophie felt herself slipping into a panic. Images of Ruy flashed through her mind. Every time he raised his voice, or threatened her. She felt Keefe's hand on her shoulder and almost screamed but she remembered that he was a nice person, he protected her. Rescued her from Ruy. She breathed in. Counting herself through her panic, 1...2...3 she let her breath out.

"That's it keep breathing, Foster," Keefe said. She sat down and he rubbed her back gently. She calmed down leaning against Keefe.

"Thanks...Keefe" she murmured smiling. She might have been hurt healing from Ruy, but she knew Keefe would never hurt her, he would always protect her from others, and herself.
