Trial-Sophie's POV

Oralie walked into the room, and I looked up from the book I was reading. When I was in Italy i had read a book maybe every day, it was my escape to escape the drowning sense that I felt daily.

She's my Mother, I still didn't know what to do with that. She claimed she told me so I would know that my biological parents care about me. I think the real question is why didn't she tell me when we first met. Maybe then I wouldn't have fell for Ruy's lies. 

"Oralie" i acknowledged her with a nod, before looking back towards the words on the page. 

"Sophie, the council met to discuss it and we find it's fair to provide Ruy with a trial in front of all the people to decide if he is innocent or not-"

"Are you crazy!" I said standing up I dropped my book where I had been sat before. 

She sighed and shook her head, 

"It was a majority vote, I couldn't change it,"

"Did you even try?!"

"Of course I did, but Emery convinced everyone that we can't trust the word of someone that grew up with humans-"

"Oh so this all goes back to you're misguided judgement!" I exclaimed throwing my hands up. She was getting more frustrated and I could tell but I knew everything Ruy had done and that made me very mad that they didn't trust me because I lived with humans.

"No, Emery just-"

"Save your excuses Oralie, I know the truth and you know the truth and if you think that it's okay to not take my word for something you know is true, well then I guess our only similarities are the DNA we share!"

"Sophie you know that's not true, I do care about you but I can't just lock Ruy up it has to be a trial that leads to a unanimous vote from the council" She said, and I scoffed rolling my eyes.

"Save you're excuses Oralie, and if Ruy get's free because of you're council's stupid prejudice, then I won't even acknowledge our shared DNA, you'll be dead to me Oralie" I said turning on my heal I left the room, my book forgotten as I found the leapmaster.

I took a deep breath setting my mask and I rotated my shoulders tilting my chin up I touched my Nexus, Elwin wasn't certain where my leaping concentration was and until he cleared me I would be forced to continue wearing my new nexus. 

"Candelshade!" I yelled, I stepped into the beam of light and closed my eyes letting it take me to Keefe's residence.

I opened my eyes, and strode confidently across his lawn, I stopped in front of his door. I went to call Keefe on his Imparter, when Cassius opened the door. 

"I thought I told you to stay away from my son" He said, crossing his arms, his dumb smirk on his face.

"Oh really, I'm so sorry you've been hallucinating again, I mean where I'm from we call that a mental illness, but I'm pretty sure here they refer to that as having a shattered mind" I said, smiling sweetly at him. 

"I-"

"Oh don't worry it's okay it has to do with aging, I mean I know most elves live forever and you're relatively a child, which honestly makes this all so much sadder, but I think you can rest assured that no one really cares about your opinion Cassius" I said, before walking the through the door, I bumped his shoulder as I walked to Keefe's room. 

I threw the door open, 

"I'm Baaaaaaaack!" I sang and Keefe screamed falling off his bed where he had been previously sat drawing. 

"Gah Sophie, I almost died of a heart attack" He whined holding his hand over his heart. 

"Please you couldn't have a heart attack if you tried, now get up, I wanna prank someone" I said, crossing my arms. He groaned standing up, 

"Okay, Okay who are we targeting anyway" He said, wandering to his bathroom to do his hair probably. 

"That silly, is for me to know and you to find out," I said clapping my hands evilly.
