Eyes- Sophie POV

Sophie followed Ruy trying to remember why she agreed to the marriage. She scrunched her brows...Someone needed to be protected. Yeah, that was it, she was protecting someone, right? Unless she actually agreed to the marriage out of love. Nope. Impossible, no one loves the person responsible for the burns and cuts on her stomach. 

"Sophie...were here. Don't do anything you'll regret," he said opening the door to a room... full of students. She entered sitting at the empty seat in the back. Leaning against the chair carefully, wincing from the pressure it put on her back. She ignored it and focused on the lesson.

"How was school, Soph?" he asked

"Good," she said surprised at her own happiness. 

"That's wonderful...Listen I set something up, there are some clothes waiting for you put them on, and I'll come to get you for our...date," he said guiding her to her cell. 

She walked in and saw a bed with a dress on it. She held it up. It was a deep red, went to her ankles with a long slit, the top was more showy than she liked but he had also put on a black leather jacket, and heels. She put it on sliding the leather jacket on she sat down and slipped on her heels waiting for him. 

As she waited, a pair of Ice blue eyes flashed across her mind, and she tried to remember who they belonged to but they were already gone. She took a deep breath rubbing her temples to get rid of her headache. Ruy knocked and she stood up. 

"Come in." She said. 

"Soph...You look...Stunning." he said walking over to him he took her hand, guiding her out the door. 

"Where are we going?" she asked him, feeling wrong but she ignored the feeling, they were already dating, right?

"Mom set up a date for us on the balcony, fettuccini you're favorite," he said smiling at her.

Right his mom, Cindy. she thought as he opened a door to the outside. They sat down and someone brought them their food. 

"Sophie, you know we're dating right?" Ruy asked.

"Of course...Why wouldn't I?" she asked.

"It's our 3-month anniversary," he said. 

"Oh...Is that Important?" she asked tilting her head.

"I just wondered why you've never said 'I love you I mean I've said it but...You've never said it back." he said looking at her with his deep blue eyes. "Sophie?"

"Hmm..." she said distracted by the pools of blue that were his eyes.

"Do you love me?" he asked

"Of course...Why wouldn't I?" she asked still distracted, she noticed how nice his jawline was.

"Won't you say the words then?" he asked her.

"Okay," she said meeting his eyes. "I love you." after she said it, it felt wrong like a betrayal but she couldn't figure out why. She blinked a pair of silver blue eyes flashing in her head. She shook her head ignoring it. She felt Ruy's soft fingers holding her hand. She looked down and blushed. 

"I love you too," he said smiling at her.

~*One week later*~

Sophie laughed smiling at the camera. They were on a day trip in town, and Ruy wanted a picture of her in front of a fountain. She rejoined him and he slipped his arm over her shoulders. She smiled as they strolled through the square they were going to the theater tonight. 

They walked in and she saw the new minions movie. 

"Is that what we're seeing?" she asked pointing.

"Yep," he said holding up the tickets they entered the theater. "Listen Soph...I uh kinda booked the theater only for us is that okay?" he asked as they found their seats.

"Oh yeah that's fine," she said as they sat down, watching the credits she leaned her head on his shoulder. Halfway through, she looked at her boyfriend. Perfect. She thought, 

"Ruy?" she asked 

"Hmm..." he said turning towards her.

"I know we've been dating for three months...Have we ever kissed?" she asked him.

"No... We haven't you weren't ready," he said looking into her eyes.

"Do you..." she was cut off by him pressing his lips to hers, she gasped before responding to the kiss. 

"I love you..." he murmured pressing his forehead to hers, he smiled.

~*6 months later*~

"Hey, Soph?" Ruy said from behind her door. It was her birthday she was seventeen.

"Yeah?" she said going to the door.

"I've got surprised for you," he said as she opened it. She followed him to the loft area. She saw an open window, with a perfect view of the night sky. Below is a red and white picnic blanket with a basket. "Suprise...Do you like it?" he said turning towards her.

"Oh, Ruy...I love it, Thank you!" she said pulling him in for a kiss. They sat down and he pulled out two sandwiches. They sat staring at the stars as they ate. When they finished he put the trash away, and they lay down to watch the night sky. She felt him wrap his arm around her. She snuggle into the familiar crook and closed her eyes dozing off.  Alarm bells went off for a second before she fell asleep.

~*One year later*~

Sophie stood up when Ruy entered. For a minute she saw two different people, a boy with black hair, silver bangs, and silver blue eyes, and the other a blonde-haired, ice-blue-eyed boy. She shook her head. 

"Hey, Soph... Tomorrow's your birthday, anything you want to do?" he asked

"Go on a date?" she suggested hugging him.

"Okay where?" he asked laying his chin on her head.

"The movies, there's a new movie out," she said breathing in his smell, surprised that it calmed her but she couldn't figure out why. He'd never done anything to harm her. For a split second she saw someone that looked like her tied to a chair screaming, but the next second it was gone and she pulled away from the hug. 

"You've never done anything...bad to me...right?" she asked, wrapping her arms around herself subconscious about her clothes for the first time. She had on a cropped white tank top with running shorts on. 

"No. I would never," he said stepping towards her cautiously. 

"Are you...sure?" she asked taking a step back. That memory awakened a feeling of terror in her. 

"Yes, what made you think, I've hurt you?" he asked.

"I don't know..." she said watching him slowly walk closer to her. He wrapped her in another hug.

"Sophie..." he said.

"Hmmm..." she said looking up at him, trying to quiet her sense of panic.

"I love you," he said kissing her. She wrapped her hands around his neck pulling him in and tangling her fingers in his messy brown hair. They pulled apart.

"I love you too," she said her sense of panic gone.

Sophie watched as in the movie the main character proposed to their love. She turned to Ruy to give him a kiss and saw him on one knee. She gasped standing up.

"Sophie...Will you marry me?" he asked.

"Yes!" she said hugging him. He kissed her and put a diamond ring on her finger. 

"I love you!" he said kissing her again. 

"I love you too!" she said laughing from excitement she was engaged.
