"Fitz." She said as she met him at school. 

"ready?" he asked as they walked around a corner.

"Yep," she said smiling he took hold of her hand, and they leaped too right outside of to glowing gates. She looked up at them in awe as they opened. Following Fitz through, a man, well elf she thought met them.

"Sophie this is my father, Alden," he said Sophie looked at the elf, an exact copy of his son.

"uh- Nice to meet you," she said sticking out her hand "I'm Sophie." 

"Hello Sophie," he said shaking her hand "Shall we go in I'm sure Bronte is waiting." 

She nodded and he led the way, she looked around as they walked stopping when they walked into a room with three figures. "Sophie, These are Councilors Bronte, Kenric, and Oralie" She smiled at them and nodded her head in respect. Before sitting down where Alden directed her. She ate the food following the others, it was a strange orange slush. But she ate some and her eyes lit up as she ate when she was done, she looked up and noticed they were all staring at her. She blushed wondering if she did something wrong. 

"Well I suppose we can start your testing," Bronte said. 

"For what?" she asked 

"Entering Foxfire." Oralie the blonde curly haired counselor said

"And if I fail the test?" she asked waiting to see if what Gisela had told her was true.

"You'll go to Exillium," Kenric said 

She nodded at them and began testing she put enough effort to appear to be trying but made sure she would fail.

"I can't believe I failed" she groaned to Fitz as she followed him to a room where she was supposed to stay apparently. " Wait why am I staying here don't I have to go home to my family?" she asked panicking.

"No, your family is going to believe you died-" Fitz started but she interrupted him

"Can't you erase me from their memory?" 

"I could ask but it will be tricky," he said as they arrived at her room for the night.

"Please," she asked him meeting his eyes.

"Okay. I'll ask" he said before walking away.

I lay on my bed wide awake. My family believed I was dead. They were mourning me. Fitz's plea had been ignored and they went with the original option. She sighed she couldn't sleep because she didn't have Ella, her stuffed Elephant in a Hawaiian shirt. She slowly drifted into a fitful sleep.

Sophie stood with Alden as he took her hand smiling at her he light leaped her to her new home. Smiling at her they walked up the walk to the front and knocked on the door, a man with blonde hair opened the door, and a woman with red-brown hair walked up behind him. She assumed they were married. 

"Grady. Edaline. This is Sophie." Alden said as they walked inside. "She'll attend Exillium, so her uniform will arrive today. Other than that I don't think there's anything else to tell you" 

"Thank you, Alden," Grady said as Alden left, Sophie stood next to Edaline. 

"Your rooms up here Sophie," Edaline said motioning for Sophie to follow.

Sophie sat on her floor staring at the uniform she unfolded it and tried it on. She slid the hood over her head and took a deep breath realizing she liked the anonymity the hood brought her, having stood out her whole life as the only 12-year-old senior. After hanging her uniform in her closet she found a necklace with a bead on it. It came with a note telling her it would leap her to Exillium. 

Edaline brought her dinner letting her settle into her new surroundings.
