"Everyone! Stay calm and we will evacuate you all in an orderly manner!" You yelled.
Mondstadt was currently under attack. The Dragon known as Stormterror was going on a rampage. You, as a member of the Knights of Favonius, is task to help to evacuate the citizens to safety.
"Oi, I see someone flying up there!" A citizen pointed out and you turn to see a young boy in a strange outfit on his wind glider.
"Hey you over there! Take care of things here" You said and immediately head for the plaza, where the Anemo Archon Statue is.
"That is some typhoon" You said as you quickly made your way up to the Church. At the highest point, you draw out your bow and arrow as you aim for Stormterror and [Elemental energy] begin to accumulate on your arrow head, corresponding to your [Elemental] Vision.
You release your arrow to which it shot Stormterror who then begins to roar out loud. You then quickly deploy your wind glider and head towards the boy, where you pull him back to the ground. Soon, Stormterror left and the wind slowly dies down.
"Y/N-san! Aether! Are you two okay?" Your friend, Amber ask in panic.
"I've got a few questions for you young one" You said, facing to whom Amber call 'Aether'.
"Y/N-san! Aether is a Traveler who just arrive" says Amber.
"Oh yeah? Well sorry Amber but even if it's you, I need to bring him over to HQ. Who knows... If he is an ally or an enemy" You said and you were prepared to grab a hold of Aether when the Cavalry Captain came by
"Captain Kaeya"
"Jean's got orders. Bring him over" says Kaeya and you nodded.
Later...
"Y/N" You turn to greet the Acting Grand Master, Jean.
"Master Jean, about that kid-" You start but Jean cuts you off, saying there is nothing suspicious about him.
"Y/N, you're too over-cautious of people" says Jean. You simply look anywhere but her eyes.
"I know it's hard for you to trust people but the Traveler is no one suspicious. Besides, he helped us earlier during the incident so you should thank him as well" says Jean.
You sigh as you leave after bowing at Jean. You headed to the top of the Favonius Church. This was the only place where you could clear your thoughts. You think back to Jean's words which only cause you to drown in your memories.
You lost your parents at a young age and the orphanage you lived in was bought by those old men who wishes to tear down the building. They lied. When they first buy the orphanage, they said they would make it better for the kids.
No... After the orphanage was bought, the children's paradise turned into hell as each and every one of them were being used in sick experiments. It took you so much energy for you to escape but you couldn't save any of your friends.
Since then you find it hard to trust anyone at all. When you first arrive in Mondstadt, you were very wary of everyone, even if they don't mean any harm. Though you slightly warm up to them, you still had a barrier around your heart to prevent anyone from entering.
"Umm, Y/N-san?" You were taken back to reality when you hear a voice. You quickly draw out your bow but only to realize it's Aether and his flying companion whom they call Paimon.
"How did you two get here?" You ask.
"We were exploring around" says Paimon.
"Enjoy exploring then" You said and you were preparing to leave when Aether stop you as he signals Paimon to leave them alone.
"What is it?" You ask.
"Thanks for earlier" He says.
"Just doing my job. Besides, a Traveler from a faraway land like yourself shouldn't be bothered with the affairs here" You said.
"It just happened. I wasn't expecting Stormterror to attack" says Aether.
"Anyways, the crisis is over now so if I were you, I would stay out of harm's way" You said.
"Wait, you hurt your hand didn't you? I got bandage for you" says Aether as he hands a plaster to you.
You look at your arm and chuckled bitterly. You didn't see any reason to refuse and thus you take the plaster from him and try to put it on your arm.
"Let me help" says Aether and he nicely places the plaster on you.
The close contact with him was making your heart beat at an unusual rate.
"There" He says with a small smile. You quickly look away.
"T-Thanks" You said awkwardly.
"No worries. I'll see you around Y/N!" says Aether and he leaves and you watch him leave.
"You know what... I'm actually looking forward to seeing you too Aether" You said with a smile.
