In This Together *Casualty*

Ch six

Kenzie sat in the flat. She sighed as she rested a hand on her bump.

She knew how she was under a lot of stress with all of what was going on with Iain. How he wouldn't see her. She knew she hated it. She hated how alone and pregnant that she felt.

Kenzie heard a knock at the door. She sighed as she stood up. She answered it. She saw Ella and smiled.

"I wanted to see how you are. I wanted to give you an update on Iain. He is doing okay. It's just his rehab. I know how you are struggling with all of this. But I want you to know that it's okay. I am here for you. Iain is going through a hard. I know he may be pushing you away, but he needs you. Just try and be there for him" Ella said as Kenzie looked to her sister and smiled.

Kenzie knew that Ella was right. How she had to try and be there for Iain. But she knew it wasn't easy. She knew that she was pregnant. And that her hormones were all over the place. She it scared her.

"I just want to be there for him El. I love him. I want to help him through this. He is going to be a father soon. And what happens when he comes home? Is he going to avoid me here?" Kenzie said.

Ella smiled. "I don't know," she said as Kenzie sighed to herself.

Kenzie got to the hospital. She walked up to the ward where Iain was. She looked to see Iain as he stood in his room.

She stood in the doorway. He turned to look at her. "I know that you don't want to see me. I'm sorry for that. But I'm pregnant. I am having your baby. You can't ignore me forever," she said as he didn't say a word as she looked to him and nodded.

"Look. I love you Iain. And I am having your baby. You know our baby girl. She needs her daddy. You need to do your rehab and get better. I know you're embarrassed about it all. But I'm here. I promise it's all going to be okay," Kenzie said as she walked over to him.

Neither of them said a word as he placed a hand on top of hers and smiled. Kenzie knew how difficult things were between them. She knew she hated it.

Kenzie sat in the staffroom and looked to see Ella and looked to her and frowned as she sad the look on her face. "What is it? Is it Iain?" she asked.

Ella shock her head. "No it's mum. She's in the ED. Something happened to her," she said.

Kenzie looked to her. She frowned. "What happened?" She asked.

Ella looked to her and sighed. "She said she fell down the stairs. It's that boyfriend of hers. I know he did this. She's in danger," Ella said as Kenzie looked to her and frowned.

Unaware of just how everything was going to change.
