Everybody loved a good story where they see the main characters all collectively laughing with each other. Due to the fact that she had been hanging out a lot more with the football team and the cheer squad, Alyssa was granted a seat at their table during breaks for lunch. Now she could sit with Dream while being openly greeted and acknowledged by the other players, who seemed just as gladdened by her presence as her brother was.
But when looking at a situation from only one perspective, you don't tend to take in any other point of view into account. Because while you may see smiling and cheerful faces, there's always an opposite side of the spectrum that displays the exact opposite. Sometimes you really need to look to find this, but once it's discovered, it makes you wonder how you never noticed it before.
The young blonde's eyes were scanning across the cafeteria, his hands gripped tightly onto his spoon as he surveyed the area. It was lunchtime, which meant that there were more people in the cafeteria right now than there had been during any other part of the day. Through his time, Tommy had been compared to a lot of animals, but right now, he was like a hawk: Watching as a certain silver-haired girl walked away from the lunch line with a tray full of food, wondering where she was going to take her stay.
Only a second had passed before Tommy gazed with dissapointed eyes as Alyssa, instead of trailing over towards their table like she would normally do, waltzed over towards the football team's table to take an empty seat beside her brother, who had welcomed her to the group with open arms. As Alyssa slipped into the chair beside Dream, Tommy took to look at the empty chair at the Watsons' table that would usually be reserved for her. Although (Y/n) hadn't took too much notice to her dissapearance, Tommy watched with a fallen stare how Alyssa's absence effected how full their table looked.
Tommy noticed how (Y/n) was now seated right beside an empty chair. Their table felt bigger now that there was less people around it. And by 'less people', he means two. It was surprising to think that by welcoming Dream and Alyssa into their group in the first place, they would be opening their doors to a larger friendship. Now that they were 'gone', their circle felt even smaller than from before they had arrived.
"Why the fuck is she sitting over there again?" He spat out bitterly. "She already sat there for breakfast."
(Y/n) turned over her shoulder in order to link her view up with where Tommy was looking. Upon realising that he was referencing Alyssa, she just turned herself around again with a shrug. "Maybe she's just talking to the team. It's not a big deal."
"She can talk to the team after school." Tommy exclaimed. "She's supposed to be with us."
"Like brother like sister." Wilbur commented under his breath, turning the page of the book that he was reading while poking at his lunch with a fork. His head hadn't been tilted up to look at anyone else, his eyes were still fixated on the words as he spoke. "Befriending us then abandoning us. They're both one in the same."
Tommy's heart sunk at Wilbur nonchalant sentence, glancing back at his older brother with a broken stare.
"Stop being dramatic." (Y/n) placed her hand firmly onto the table. "You complained when Dream started hanging out with other people and now you're complaining about Alyssa. They're not obligated to sit with us."
"I'm only pointing it out." Wilbur cast his eye at (Y/n).
"Well don't!" She ordered in a heavy tone. "They're literally siblings, why else would they sit together? You, Tommy, and Techno sit together all the time."
