·˚· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ THE WORLD'S WORST HEADMISTRESS, chapter XII

After winning the first round against Meadowridge Grammar, Dream wanted to take a bit more time to think about his own things. Although, he never had enough of his own free passings in order to just sit alone with his thoughts unless it was the middle of the night- And even then, Technoblade still snored very loudly in his sleep, as much as he liked to deny it.

As he became more aware of the feelings he may have been developing for (Y/n), he started to become more aware of the things that she did... Or aware of the things that he did in order to spend a few more spared seconds by her side.

He started to notice how much he looked at her, or how much he smiled at her. Whenever they were in a crowd or group of people, he would be facing in her direction. And whenever he was beginning to lose focus in a conversation, all he would need to do is hear (Y/n)'s name and he would instantly snap back into reality to pay attention to the chat. It didn't even matter what the conversation was about, if (Y/n) was a part of it, he was suddenly very interested.

He felt bad for lying to Alyssa about not having a crush on anyone back at the field, but in his defence, he didn't really know it at the time. In fact, he didn't really know now. Maybe this was all just one big phase that would blow over as soon as he met someone different? Perhaps he's just looking for someone to like because he did feel a little bit lonely. All of the reasons piled onto why he didn't feel like telling anybody. He wasn't exactly sure what he was feeling.

Instead of joining the football team at their table, this time, he joined Tommy and Alyssa. He dragged his feet over towards one of the seats, setting his tray down in front of the chair so he could pull himself next to his sister, who had kindly welcomed his appearance with a smile. It was a couple of hours after the first football match and the students that wanted to come were all called to dinner. He could see the darkness begin to peep into the sky whenever he glanced over towards the window, but he continued to focus on the light that he swam through inside of the room.

"Hey, Dream!" Alyssa was the first to greet her brother with words as he sat down. All of them were dressed out of their uniforms and instead in comfy attire, the kind that you would be able to wear outside without people realising that you're actually wearing pyjamas. "Great game."

"It was sick!" Tommy exclaimed with a wide smile. "You guys won by a fuckin' landslide!"

"One win streak going strong." Alyssa chimed with a smirk, one that was easily replicated by the blonde.

"Thanks, guys." He uttered stabbing his fork onto his meal and just pushing his tray towards the side, not really wanting to eat and just wanting to focus his attention on his friends. "I think I hyped the first game up more than I should've. I was expecting a real challenge."

"Don't go selling yourself too high now." She chuckled. "Otherwise the next round is gonna be difficult and you're not gonna expect it."

"That's true."

"It's better to prepare yourself for something difficult and get something easy than prepare for something easy and get something difficult." The silver-haired girl chimed poetically.

"How inspirational." Dream let out a short burst of laughter.

When he looked up at the people around the desk, he felt a little uneasy with emptiness, noticing that there was clearly less people filling the seats. Obviously, he had first noticed that (Y/n) wasn't there, but then he also came to realise that Wilbur, Technoblade and Tubbo were also absent. For a moment, he pulled the sleeve of his jacket up so he could glance down at the time, seeing that it had only been about five minutes into the dinner.
