We arrived at the hospital. before going inside mum called Peter a few more times. he still wasn't answering. mum got upset but she was nearly late for her appointment. we got to the maternity ward and mum checked in. we waited a while, in silence until mums name was called. "Carla Barlow" the nurse said from the other side of the room. mum got up and said "come on then you two." Elsa and I followed her in. I sat down on the chair in the corner, with Elsa on my lap. mum lay on the bed in the middle. the woman asked her questions about the baby and stuff. I didn't listen, Elsa was whispering into my ear about where Peter was. the nurse asked her to lift up her top. mum did so. the nurse put some jelly on her tummy out of a bottle. "what's that?" Elsa asked me quietly. I shrugged my shoulders. I continued to watch. she put the weird stick thing onto her stomach, mum turned to look at the screen and so did I. a picture appeared on the screen of a twelve week old baby. I pointed to and said "look Elsa" "wow" she said. mum cried a bit and asked her for pictures.

When we got home after picking up the twins, it was six, mum put some chicken nuggets and chips in the oven and sat down on the sofa. The kids were in their room. I sat down next to mum and said "its going to be ok mum, you know that right. you will always have us. I mean look at those three kids in there, they don't have anyone except me and you and look how well behaved and mature they are." mum put her head on my shoulder. we sat for about half and hour before mum started to move. "I am gonna go to bed" she said as she stood up. "me too"

I was lying in bed, when I heard the door slam, I heard footsteps. it was mum, she was arguing with Peter. I hoped that the kids wouldn't wake up. they argued for about five minutes before mum went back to her room and shut the door.
