[ATHANASIA'S POV]

It's been a week since she came to the Henituse Duchy. There's still no trace of the red hair around. She went by the gardens, the museums, the exhibits – she went to different places but the place that made her calm down was the immaculate room filled with books.

One week.

She had been waiting for that person to appear.

One week.

She plans on telling him about her and asked for his assistance.

Athy smiled bitterly.

She can still vividly remember the face of her father who gazes at her with disdain. She can remember the dread and loss in this kind of clothes that holds no power ever when worn.

The unwanted princess.

The runaway princess.

The emperor's daughter from a commoner.

She reached for the book she discovered a week ago. She opened it and read the next chapters. The book was written in both Korean and Rowoon letters. She finds it very interesting than the romance novel she used to read. She was a Korean woman who transmigrated into this world of fantasy. The connection while reading the book gave her some peace of mind as she read the familiar name of everyone around her now.

She was reading until she unknowingly fell asleep.

A moment's later, she felt someone's presence in the study. The footsteps were even. The light and heavy breathing echoes with the breeze. She can hear the soft rustles and soft sighs – until everything came to a pause.

She fought the urge to open her eyes. The familiar sweet scent from the red hair filled her nose. The person before her took the book she was reading and heard the light thunk, which meant it was placed on the table. Two strong arms supported her head and body as she was slowly laid down on the couch.

She breathes. She can hear her heartbeat widely, so fast as if she run in a race. She slightly trembled at the feeling of the cold hand that brushed against her forehead down to her cheeks. The heavy breath was near. Too close that she chose to shut her eyes out of nervousness.

She felt the slender fingers comb her bangs to the side and the feeling of the cold yet warm palm cupping her cheeks. Athy hitches his breath the moment she felt the gentle caress of a thumb on her lips.

She parted her lip outs of surprise but her eyes were shut tightly, as she felt the warm sweet yet minty breath on her face.

She knows the exact thing that will happen.

Is he interested in her too?

Does he have any attraction to me too?

Her mind was filled with these thoughts, as she waited for the warm soft kiss that would follow.

However, that didn't come.

The soft rustles and the sudden coldness embraced her body, along with the warm coat placed over her. She felt the light pat on her head. She slowly opened her eyes and watched the man's back walking away from her.

She felt frustrated. She wanted to cry.

At first, she thought that it was just some sudden attraction or encounter – but this whole situation made her heart lurch with unbearable pain.

Lily once told her, that Claude met her mother back when she was still a dancer. Her mom fell in love with her father at first sight.

This world or even the world before this one, not all love at first sight beautifully ended with a nice note. Athy gritted her teeth as she continued to watch the back of the redhead far from her.
