The regency of Athanasia became a hot topic throughout the southern continent. Many kingdoms expressed their disappointment and disapproval. The Rowoon workers, however, silenced them before they could ask, with Alver leading them in disguise as a dark elf.
Cale is just as terrifying as his plan.
"I didn't expect such war tactics to be used in this manner," Alver said as he listened to Cale's plan.
"It's flawless, but my wife won't let me in the bed."
Of course, there are times in a couple's life when they disagree about something.
"Well, considering it's the Madam, your fight came sooner than expected," Ron observed, sounding like a crappy love tutor, "you should be fighting two years from your newlywed life, but as expected of my Young Master, you always break the rules of love."
Cale looked at Ron with a frown. Vicross simply shook his head, deciding to feed the Madam rather than his Master. Cale has to deal with this prejudice.
"Could you please enlighten me, Ron?"
"In a relationship, women are always right," Ron smirks.
Cale frowned even more. Hah. In his previous world, he remembered women being quite strong and independent, but the iron rule that women are always right returns. It's not his fault that Uncle Ana turned into a lunatic foe. He had devised a devilish plan to corner him, but Athanasia did not approve of the bloody plan.
Of course, Cale considered that sin, but focusing on Uncle Anas would divert his attention away from the fact that his children and Athanasia are in danger.
When Duke Fredo entered the room, he presented Cale with a bouquet of roses.
"Give that to her and apologize; tell her why you wanted this plan and that she is the reason for it."
"In a relationship, to sincerely say your worries make it work and stronger than before, Young Master," Ron nodded.
Cale nodded and walked out of the room. He knocked on the Emperor's door. Even though that man had hurt Athanasia, his wife still looked after him. In the end, Athanasia is still a child who is concerned about her family. They're the only ones who remain.
When he entered the room, he noticed Athanasia wiping her father's face. Cale frowned, this man was even better looking than him.
"Athanasia," he called as he approached her. Athanasia raised her head and took his hand in hers. Her hand was trembling and cold.
"No matter how much I thought about it... there's no reason for him to save me."
Cale knelt down and wrapped his arms over her shoulder, saying, "No matter how much of a cruel father he is to you, in the end, he would still be your father."
He wanted to say it's okay to hate him and let him be. It's fine to just leave this place, but Cale can't. He still wanted to save Athanasia from the pain and regret she would feel if she was turned away from this person without closure.
And...
He can't take his gaze away from this man who has pleaded with him to take good care of his daughter and to be a good man and father to their family.
This man truly regrets everything he did, and he had no intention of ruining her life.
This man only wanted to apologize and keep an eye on her, to speak to her one last time before letting her go wherever she wanted to go.
This man jumped into danger fearlessly in order to save his daughter and unborn grandchildren without Cale if he was hated afterwards.
"I'm sorry," Cale said.
