Ron harshly sighs after seeing his son's miserable state. It's good that he survived. Even though his son trains with Choi Han, there's this large disparity between swordsmen and swordmasters.

*knocks* Ron stood up and opened the door, "yes?"

Lilian York is standing outside their room.

"is the... um..."

"come in." Ron didn't say anything anymore. He just let the girl in and let her see his son. He can't help but feel at ease knowing that at least someone would visit his son despite not being on the same page.

Meanwhile, Lilian stared at Vicross for a good while. It seems that he's running a fever. His bandages were soaked with blood. Lilian sat by Vicross's side. She noticed Ron concocting some fever-reducing medicine.

*knocks* "Ron... the Lord is calling for you..."

"I'll be there..." Ron sighed and looked at Lilian, "can you look after him for a while?"

"yes! I will..." Lilian answered immediately. She took the medicine from Ron, "please don't worry about him... I will take care of him."

"thank you very much." Ron lowly replied and resumed his duties.

Lilian once again sat beside Vicross and carefully fed him the medicine. Vicross moans at the bitter taste of the medicine. "drink this up please." She whispered and helped him lift his head while feeding him the medicine.

It must've hurt.

Even with the healers, they can't fully heal him.

Lilian sadly watched Vicross. She took a basin of warm water and wiped him off. She helped him change his bandages and properly tucked him onto the bed.

"Lilian York." She looked up. Felix Robane was standing by the door. She did not greet him. She just sat there and wiped Vicross arms while holding his hands.

"the princess."

"she is no longer the princess... nor I am a maid." She replied. She didn't say anything anymore and let silence take over. Felix didn't say anything anymore. They both knew the promise back when Diana was alive. She was a very beautiful woman who was able to tame the cold-hearted emperor. However, after her death, the emperor decided to abandon his child in her palace and eventually disowned her.

"I am protecting her with all I can... so don't come to find her anymore..."

"We won't... we already reported that the Princess is dead," Felix said. He did not step into the room. He just stood there and watch her take care of a servant. "you know... you'll eventually cause trouble if you stay in this place."

"I know..." Lilian York replied, "but I can't leave."

Not when this is the place that gave her lovely princess that smiles she had never seen from her ever since then.

"neither you can find happiness here," Felix said. This person was supposed to be a dense person but why is he telling her this. "you are a noble... he is a commoner."

"does it matter now?" Lilian replied.

"you can't fall in love, Lilian. Not with the people you'll eventually harm."

Lilian didn't reply. Everything he said made sense. However, even if her second love was nothing but filled with fights, she didn't care about it because she has never been happy before. Their existence will eventually bring harm to the people who protected them.

Lilian smiled bitterly and wipes Vicross's face with the towel.

"in the end... you're telling us to leave." Lilian blankly replied, "but we can't."
